To hatch a Luma Egg, you first need to build a Luma Incubator. Purchase the blueprint from Balthazar for 500 Gold.

The materials required to craft the Luma Incubator are:

  • 5 Leather: Crafted from Mushrooms at the Simple Workbench.
  • 3 Copper Ingots: Smelt Copper Ore with Coal in the Ore Smelter.
  • 5 Fabric: Crafted from Cotton at the Simple Workbench.
  • 5 Glass: Crafted from Sand and Coal in the Kiln.

Now, craft a Luma Life using a spirit from various activities on the island. You can choose from five spirit types:

  • Water Spirit (Fishing)
  • Rock Spirit (Mining)
  • Lost Spirit (Ruins and Chests)
  • Nature Spirit (Foraging)
  • Earth Spirit (Farming)

Combine the Luma Life and Luma Egg in the Luma Incubator to hatch your Luma. The type of spirit used will determine the Luma’s characteristics.

Once hatched, the Luma will follow you around and help you locate buried treasure by pointing out dig spots. To ensure your Luma produces Luma Energy, feed it Luma Food and pet it daily.

Luma Food can be crafted using Farm Flower, Farm Mushroom, and Farm Berry. It can also be crafted in bundles as you progress through other biomes. Additionally, you can purchase Luma Power Food from the Mushroom Man to increase the Luma's energy output.

If you collect more than one Luma, you can store them in Luma Nests. These come in small, medium, and large sizes, which you can craft using various materials found across the biomes. Each tier allows you to store more Lumas, and you can swap them out by placing one in your Helper Slot.
