How to get to the Mountains in Luma Island

Luma Island is home to varied biomes, each with unique resources, environments, and more. One of them is the Mountain biome, the tundra-esque region where it snows constantly, but it will also help you unlock new resources to further aid progression. This region is a little tricky to reach, as players must invest in a fair bit of progression to unlock it.

Here is everything to know about unlocking the Mountain Biome in Luma Island, including all the steps and resources needed.

As with other locations in this charming sandbox crafting game, you must first help the townsfolk to unlock this new biome. Since the mountains are a hilly region, you will need to repair the broken cable car that was wrecked after the earthquake on Day 5. Furthermore, the resources required to fix this mode of transport require renovating another key spot: Sophia's General Store, which is right next to the cable cars.

First, let's focus on fixing the General Store. Located in the Town, an NPC called Sophia will be standing in front of this messy storefront. Talk to her to initiate this quest. There will be two phases of fixing the store. For the first one, bring the following materials:

  • Fiber (x5)
  • Forest Planks (x5)

Fiber is crafted at the Simple Workbench from Reeds found near water bodies like the beach or lakes. Forest Planks are manufactured by investing Forest Wood into the Sawmill. The second phase requires these ingredients, some of which will be a little tougher to gather:

  • Forest Planks (x5)
  • Iron Bar (x5)
  • Forest Stone Block (x15)
  • Glass (x25)

Iron Bars are crafted at the Ore Smelter using Iron Ore gathered from caves or underground areas in the Forest biome. Glass meanwhile can be fashioned at the Kiln by collecting Sand from the beach areas on the map. Finally, the Forest Stone Block can be created in the Sawmill from boulders and stones collected from the forest using the Pickaxe tool.

Now that the General Stop part has been wrapped up, here are the materials required to fix the Cable Car:

  • Iron Bar (x10)
  • Silk Rope (x25)
  • Forest Stone Blocks (x25)
  • Forest Resin (x20)
  • Cable For A Cable Car (x1)
  • Cogwheel (x1)

Silk Rope can be created from webs harvested inside dungeons and Temples, while Forest Resin is obtained from its namesake plant in its respective biome. The other two unique items, on the other hand, cannot be farmed. The Cable must be purchased from Sophia's General Shop, while the Cogwheel is found in the far eastern corner of the Forest at the following location on the beachside:
