New Palworld Island coming in December 2024 update
2024 isn't done yet for Palworld players, with something massive coming later in December. While details about the December 2024 update haven't been fully revealed yet, the community now knows that they are expecting something even bigger than the game's first major expansion, Sakurajima.
Having released earlier in 2024, Palworld is third on the list of games with the highest number of concurrent Steam players, with a count of 2,101,867. The developers have consistently communicated with the community and have added new content and features post-launch.
Palworld December 2024 update is set to bring a new island
Today's (November 28, 2024) Palworld announcement mentioned that the December 2024 update will require players to "survive on the largest, harshest, and most mysterious new island." This new location is reportedly "about six times more than Sakurajima."
While that's a significant claim, players will be eager to find out what Pocketpair fills that humongous space with. We will hopefully have new Pals, locations, and features to try out.
The Palworld December 2024 update news comes on the heels of Pocketpair announcing a crossover with Terraria. While no other news has been announced regarding the collaboration, it is scheduled to be released sometime in 2025. The game is also set to appear on more platforms, with a Mac release imminent in the future and a mobile port being developed with Krafton.
All of this is happening as Pocketpair contends with a patent infringement lawsuit from The Pokemon Company and Nintendo. The lawsuit mentions three separate patents and claims an injunction against Palworld. It also asks for a payment of 5 million yen each with late payment damages to The Pokemon Company and Nintendo.
