Path of Exile 2: How many character slots do you have?
You will need multiple character slots in Path of Exile 2 to explore the vast customization options available in the game. The Passive skill tree alone would take multiple characters for you to fully explore. Currently, the game is in early access and the classes are limited, but once the full release is live, there will be more classes to choose from, making it necessary to get as many character slots as possible.
Currently, the maximum number of character slots available for each account is 24. In this guide, we explain all there is to know about character slots in Path of Exile 2.
What are character slots in Path of Exile 2?
Character slots determine how many active characters you can have on your account at a given time. Each slot allows you to create a character, choose a class, and embark on your journey through the game world. Characters can be built in countless unique ways thanks to the flexibility of passive skills and customization options.
You can have up to 24 active characters on your account. While you can create up to 24 identical classes and customize them differently, early access limits the options for classes to only six. However, with the full release expanding to 12 classes, you may need many more slots to experiment with multiple builds.

How to get more character slots in Path of Exile 2
If you reach the character slot limit but wish to create a new character, you can delete an existing one. Navigate to the list of your active characters on the character selection screen. Hover over the character you wish to delete, and a delete option will appear at the bottom of the screen. Once confirmed, the character is permanently removed, freeing up a slot.

Before deleting a character, ensure you save any valuable gear by placing it in your Stash. Items stored here can be accessed by other characters in the same league.
If 24 slots are insufficient, additional slots can be purchased in the in-game microtransaction shop. Open the character menu in-game and switch to the Cosmetics tab. Scroll to the “Account Features” section of the shop, where you can purchase additional character slots.
Each additional slot costs 30 points, though discounts may occasionally apply. If you purchased the early access version, you receive a minimum of 300 points, which can be used toward these purchases. Additional points can be acquired with real money.
