Path of Exile 2 Stash tabs MTX guide: Which ones should you buy first?

Stash Tabs are a part of Path of Exile 2's monetization strategy that is powered by points, and there are many to choose from. These are not the flashy cosmetic microtransactions you will see other players wearing in town but are more oriented toward making your time playing feel a little organized.

As a new player, it can be particularly difficult to figure out which Stash Tabs to buy as there are many. Fortunately, buying an Early Access key will give a minimum of 300 points, which can be spent quite well on microtransactions. Let's find out which ones you should buy, shall we?

Which Stash tabs should you buy in Path of Exile 2?

The answer to this question boils down to your in-game objective and your patience level. If this is your first foray into the world of ARPGs, you should at least play the game for a few hours before you throw your money at microtransactions, be it Stash Tabs or Cosmetics.

Regardless, if you are willing to invest in the game, here are some of the best Stash Tabs you can buy. Note that this considers the four Standard Stash Tabs already provided by the game.

Furthermore, those who have bought any of these Stash Tabs in Path of Exile will retain their already purchased items, and vice versa, as both games share all possible microtransaction purchases.

Currency Stash Tab

The Currency Stash Tab is quite possibly one of the most important and handy purchases you can make. Path of Exile 2 doesn't have as many currency items as its prequel so it will take some time for these small trinkets to fill up your Tabs. But it will happen eventually.

Currency Stash Tab helps you store all your currencies up to a limit of 5000. Should the game release even more currency items, the Stash Tab will reflect said decision and store those too. You can never go wrong with this. This Tab will cost you 75 points.

Essences are another form of currency that are obtained from killing special monsters in the campaign and endgame. There are currently 24 unique Essences that can be found in-game, which will take up a lot of space if you store them in Standard Stash Tabs.

Furthermore, you can store an item in this tab and use essences to craft on it. It also serves as an emergency storage for one item, if you're in a hurry. Just like the Currency Stash Tab, this tab can also hold 5000 of each Essence. The Stash Tab will set you back by 40 points in Path of Exile 2.

Delirium Stash Tab

The Delirium Stash Tab is meant for storing the Distilled Emotions obtained from killing enemies inside the Delirious fog. These Emotions can be used to anoint an amulet with an additional Notable Passive Skill from the Passive Skill Tree.

Distilled Emotions can be just as frustrating to store as the other currencies mentioned above, so if you're farming Delirium in the Endgame, this Stash Tab is extremely helpful in managing your inventory. The Delirium Stash Tab will cost you 40 points. And like the previous ones, the Delirium Stash Tab can hold 5000 of each Distilled Emotion.

Premium Stash Tabs

Unlike the previous Stash Tabs mentioned here, Premium Stash Tabs do not store any special currency or items in Path of Exile 2. Instead, Premium Stash Tabs enables the player-to-player trade feature by allowing any item to be listed on the official market, which can then be browsed via the official trade website.

Premium Stash Tabs come in different flavors so you'll have plenty of choices, depending on how many points you can spend. The easiest method of obtaining a Premium Stash Tab is to convert a Standard Tab via the Upgrade to Premium Stash Tab purchase. This method will set you back by 15 points.

Next up, you can buy the normal Premium Stash Tab, which will set you back by 30 points. If you fancy something larger, the Premium Quad Stash Tab offers the space of four Tabs smashed into one big one. This Tab will cost you 150 points in Path of Exile 2.

And last but not least, the Premium Stash Tab Bundle is there so you can put as many items on the trading market as you want with the help of Six Premium Stash Tabs. This pack will cost you a hefty 200 points so be sure to have a deep pocket.

Honorable mentions

If you're in dire need of space and already have all of the Stash Tabs mentioned above, you can just simply buy the Standard Stash Tab and Standard Stash Tab Bundle for 30 and 150 points respectively.

Beyond the Tabs mentioned above, there are others such as the Flask Stash Tab (40 points) for storing flasks and the Gem Stash Tab (40 points) for storing all manner of Skill Gems. These Tabs are generally less than valuable considering Flasks are abundant in the game and do not have the same functionality as Flasks from Path of Exile.

Furthermore, Gems are also quite commonplace throughout the game so there's less demand for storing these in any Tabs, as you can just farm for one if needs be. The Unique Collections Tab is entirely a trap and you should avoid it at all costs. It stores one copy of every unique in Path of Exile 2, which can be deemed pointless for a Tab that costs 140 points.

So there you have it, four types of Stash Tabs that will help you immensely in your journey through Wraeclast. Path of Exile 2, just like its prequel, can be played entirely as free-to-play, and Stash Tabs are only for convenience. If you are still feeling unsure about what to purchase, you should hold off on your points in Path of Exile 2.
