Path of Exile 2: Kabala boss guide
Kabala Constrictor Queen is one of the side bosses players may encounter in their journey through the Path of Exile 2 campaign. Despite being a secondary objective, she is quite a formidable foe, as most of her attacks cover an area while being in a small arena. This can put players at a significant disadvantage, as one or two of her attacks can one-shot almost anyone who is just starting in normal acts or is still figuring out the best gear piece in Cruel.
While Kabala might be a secondary boss, defeating her is necessary for players as she grants two passive Skill Points. This article lists everything you must know regarding the Kabala boss, her attack patterns, and tips to defeat her.

Where to find Kabala in Path of Exile 2
Kabala can be located at Keth from the Act II campaign. This applies to both the standard and the cruel version, so make sure you explore the entire section both times to find her arena.
To get to Keth, start by boarding the Caravan after defeating the prologue of Act II, and then use the desert map. The primary objective of Keth will be to find a hidden city buried in the sands. Hence, to find Kabala, you must go out of your way to find a small arena that looks very much like the one in the image below.
Head to the middle of the arena to start the fight.
Attack patterns of Kabala in Path of Exile 2
As mentioned, Kabala comes with several AOE attacks that can be challenging to dodge. Hence, players can either go all out on their stun buildup or equip a shield to block incoming attacks. Before that, however, let us go over Kabala's attacks:
- Normal attacks and dagger strikes in close range.
- A tail swipe that covers half the arena as an AOE attack.
- Summons minions that come in numbers, and can easily overwhelm. It is best to kill them first, and then focus again on the boss.
- Shoots out bolts that surround the edge of the arena, and explode to deal AOE damage. This can one-shot any player at a ranged distance.
- Sinks to the ground and then deals an AOE damage after a while that covers the entire arena. The attack time can be identified by the pool of blood that slowly covers the arena. When that happens, try to get out of its affected space.
Note that Kabala always performs a tail swipe after coming out of the ground from the AOE attack. Rest assured there are no wipe mechanics in this fight, so you can either face-tank with a high mitigation build or go full force with your damage to stun and kill her.
How to defeat Kabala in Path of Exile 2
As mentioned, Kabala does AOE attacks mostly, so it is best to step away briefly from the arena if you are a beginner. However, there is still the option to equip a shield and use the "Raise Shield" skill to block anything in front, given you have a decent health pool with high Endurance.
For more Dexterity and Intelligence-focused characters, you can try to raise your stun buildup and knock down Kabala mid-fight. The other option is to take it slow and dodge only her AOE attacks by going outside the arena by a slight margin.
Use Life Flask if you're getting hit by her minor attacks, and recharge it by killing Kabala's minions during the fight.
