Path of Exile 2: Ketzuli High Priest of the Sun boss guide

Atop Path of Exile 2’s Temple of Kopec, you’ll find Ketzuli High Priest of the Sun. A powerful boss in its own right, it’s one of the final Act 3 challenges you have to face. However, before you get there, you’ll have to get through the dangerous Temple of Kopec itself. The secret is to skirt around the edges of each floor, avoiding the center at all costs. The constant damage you take really adds up.

You can unlock Ketzuli High Priest of the Sun as a boss fight in Path of Exile 2 after defeating Queen of Filth in the Apex of Filth. She’ll drop the idol that you need to breach the Temple of Kopec. If this boss is giving you trouble, here are some things to look out for.

How to beat Ketzuli High Priest of the Sun in Path of Exile 2

Ketzuli High Priest of the Sun is definitely a fight you want to have some extra Movement Speed for. While the boss itself isn’t especially mobile, some of its fire attacks come at you pretty fast. In general, you want to use Cold Attacks on this boss, though if you’re running a fire build, bring something to reduce its Fire Resistance, like Flammability.

Path of Exile 2’s Ketzuli High Priest of the Sun has several dangerous fire attacks. He can shoot a fire laser beam at you, or a repeated barrage of fireballs to stay out of the way of. However, he does have one particularly fast move, and that’s when he dashes at you and detonates with a powerful fiery explosion. He’ll yell “Euphoria!” or “The Heat Radiates” so you can get ready.

He’ll do this repeatedly, so stay on your toes at all times. He can also summon a slow-moving ball of fire that spins and moves around the map. This is a Black Hole designed to slow you down, so his other, harder-hitting fire attacks will actually land.

Thankfully it does move remarkably slowly. He can also leave the battlefield and launch fireballs all over the map. They move in a grid-like pattern, so you can find a spot they aren’t hitting and wait it out.

In general, Ketzuli High Priest of the Sun isn’t super dangerous. If you keep moving, you can keep blasting him with attacks. He’s most vulnerable after he does his dashes. If you can stun him at this point, or right after, you can get a lengthy series of attacks that will drain his health in no time.

This isn’t a boss with a ton of armor, so you don’t need to Armor Break it down or anything — just stay out of the way of its fire, and counterattack anytime you can and Ketzuli High Priest of the Sun will be defeated in no time, allowing you to continue the Path of Exile 2 campaign.
