Path of Exile 2: Mighty Silverfist boss guide

Path of Exile 2’s Mighty Silverfist boss has been a hot topic among players on the global chat in Early Access. Specifically, they have mentioned how it came out of nowhere and battered them. A gigantic Quadrilla boss, it carries a huge stone totem, and can suddenly appear, swinging for the proverbial fences. This fight can be incredibly challenging for melee players, that’s for sure.

That’s because it has devastating slam attacks, and lots of armor to boot. This is a boss you’ll have to Armor Break if you’re using a physical damage character. However, players like Sorceress and Minion Witch build users can shred it to pieces without ever coming in contact with the boss's melee strikes.

How to beat Mighty Silverfist in Path of Exile 2

As mentioned earlier, Mighty Silverfist is often going to come out of nowhere in Path of Exile 2. He will charge into existence and begin swinging at you in the Temple Ruins section of the Jungle Ruins map. In my experience, this section of the map tends to be closer to the middle of the map, or towards one of the map edges, near a zone exit. Thankfully, it does have a Checkpoint and a lot of open space to work with.

Its primary attack is a large arcing swing using the massive totem he carries. He will likely do this a few times in a row, so you need to keep using the Dodge Roll. After the totem swing, expect a pair of melee swings, and a vertical slam attack. This creates a cone of damage in front of Mighty Silverfist, meaning you should try to stay to the side or behind this boss.

It may also only do one swing and then a vertical slam, so you have to be careful and stay on your toes. Use the terrain to your advantage, too — there are lots of little broken buildings and trees you can hide behind.

Later in the fight, he’s also going to start using a roll attack. This will likely start happening around 40-50% health — and like the vertical slam — this can one-shot you easily, making it a must-dodge attack.

Mighty Silverfist doesn’t have any other incredibly dangerous attacks in Path of Exile 2, but frankly, these are enough. While I’ve stumbled into this boss three or four times just by exploring, it has killed me once or twice simply for not being prepared. Its melee attack is devastatingly hard-hitting.

It also has a ton of armor, making physical damage frustrating to use. However, elemental attacks, in particular fire, seem to shred through him. Even better if you use curses like Flammability to reduce the resistance to said element. This fight is all about staying out of reach of its attack.

If you’re a melee player and you want to solo this fight, it’s really going to test how good you are at using the Dodge Roll. I recommend getting one — maybe two strikes in — and then dodging an attack, and resuming.

It’s slow and tedious, but it will get the job done. Once you defeat Mighty Silverfist for the first time, you’ll receive a Book of Specialisation to add +2 Weapon Set Passive Skill Points to your arsenal.
