Path of Exile 2: Queen of Filth boss guide

Path of Exile 2’s Queen of Filth is the boss of the Apex of Filth map, probably one of the most appropriately named maps/bosses in the game. This grotesque, large female boss wields a massive weapon and can easily smash players with one hit if they aren’t careful. This is a boss fight where you definitely have to be careful where you’re standing, as she sets quite a lot of traps and AOEs down.

However, some players have reported bugs in this fight that you might be struggling with as well. While rolling around, the boss may teleport you around the arena, and it could lead to instant death. Unfortunately, all you can do is keep trying, and hope it gets fixed. If you’re struggling against the Queen of Filth’s attacks in Path of Exile 2 though, we’re here to help.

How to beat Queen of Filth in Path of Exile 2

Defeating the Queen of Filth in Path of Exile 2’s Act 3 requires you to really pay attention. This boss is aggressive like Mighty Silverfist, but with more attacks to keep an eye on. I found that Queen of Filth was one of the more aggressive bosses in this act, almost always trying to swing at you or do something.

If she raises her mallet above her head, dodge to the side or get out of her path. This could be an AOE slam, a projecitle, or a charge attack. Either way, you want to be in a different location.

Her primary attack is with her giant mallet. She swings pretty aggressively, and can also roll around the map to knock you around and reposition herself. While these attacks are frustrating, the real danger is the trio of powerful AOE debuffs she scatters across the ground.

If you see a Green Cloud on the ground, that’s constant Chaos damage. The Purple Circle is a slowing debuff, and the Red Circle lowers your Armor. If you get caught in the Red and she attacks, it’s a potential one-shot. I’ve seen a few players get completely defeated by just one Queen of Filth attack in Path of Exile 2.

She also spreads these huge lines of orange fungi. They’re harmless until you run into them. Then they’ll expand, glow, and worst of all, detonate. If you’re traveling through them, do not stick around.

Whatever you do, do not move near the areas next to her spawn point, the gross bath she was getting out of. If you do, she can trap you in there, without any way out. You can’t dodge roll through her, after all. That’s why you want Queen of Filth to stay in the center of the map when possible in Path of Exile 2.

She also summons waves of those gross baby enemies you fought throughout the Apex of Filth map. They don’t hit hard and have low health, which is great news. I used these as a Minion build to get minions to fight for me, but also to recharge my Health Potion.

The only time she’s not attacking is if she’s casting one of her debuffs, so use those times to hammer at her. Minion builds have a much easier time in this fight since you never really have to get near her, but I don’t think any one class has a disadvantage against her, as long as you’re mobile, and quick with a Dodge Roll.

Defeating the Queen of Filth gives you the Temple Door Idol and allows you to progress with the main campaign in Path of Exile 2.
