How to get Raging Spirits in Path of Exile 2

Raging Spirits have become one of the premiere Spirit-based options for Witches and many other summoners alike, thanks to their incredible damage scaling, high stun rating, ease of build compatibility, and much more. Due to the recent nerfs to many popular caster-build archetypes in the latest 0.1.0d patch, Raging Spirits — combined with the Infernalist — has become a powerhouse in campaigns and endgame maps.

Spirit gems, on the other hand, are incredibly potent in aiding builds scale their offense and defense, so much so that the patch mentioned above hit them extremely hard. In this guide, we will be taking a look at Raging Spirits, and how to get it and properly utilize it.

Raging Spirits can be unlocked as early as Act One when players reach the Freythorn zone, through the Hunting Grounds on their way to Ogham Farmlands. In this area, players are tasked with clearing the foul Ritual altars summoned by the King in the Mists.

Clearing these altars and defeating the King in the Mists grants the Gembloom Skull item, which can be consumed to earn 30 Spirit permanently. Consuming the skull also grants a Level 4 Uncut Spirit Gem, which can be turned into a Raging Spirit Skill. Witches can obtain Raging Spirits as a part of their standard repertoire.

Path of Exile 2's open-ended character progression allows every class to use every tool in-game. Therefore, other classes can obtain Raging Spirits by clicking on the All Gems section in the bottom left portion of the Gemcutting menu. It might also help if players disable 'Show Recommended Gems,' to make other options show up on their screen.

The answer to this question is rather unassuming or simplistic, depending on your understanding. Raging Spirits, due to the Skill summoning Minions, can be boosted by Support Gems. The usual suspects are the following:

  • Minion Mastery: +1 to Level of Supported Minion Skills.
  • Fire Mastery: +1 to Level of Supported Fire Skills.
  • Feeding Frenzy: Minions from Supported Skills take 20% more Damage but deal 30% more Damage.
  • Execute: Supported Skills deal 40% more life with hits against enemies on Low Life.

Raging Spirits are summoned whenever players use a Fire skill. These skulls are non-corporeal and non-targetable so players can summon them freely. The easiest method to summon multiple skulls is by using the Flame Wall Skill linked to the Fortress Support Gem.

While these skulls have a 70% conversion rate from Physical to Fire damage, each Fire Skill cast spawns a minimum of five skulls. Summon Raging Spirits has a limit of 10 maximum skulls, which can be increased by one with maximum Gem quality. Applying additional Support Gems will increase the Spirit cost of the skill.

These spirit costs can be compensated somewhat by using Scepters with high Spirit values. Furthermore, Infernalists using Beidat's Will Notable will have extra Spirit based on their maximum health, which can be beneficial in many instances.
