This Diablo 4 challenge will take you 25 years to beat (in real time)

Diablo 4’s challenges and achievements range wildly in difficulty. Some merely require you to beat a few bosses or collect a certain number of items. The vast majority of them can be completed in a pretty decent amount of time, but not all of them. Redditor duodenum100 highlighted a ridiculous challenge that doesn’t seem to be feasible unless you commit decades to the game.

Sure, Blizzard Entertainment appears to have a 10-year plan or something, but in addition to simply being a massive number of mob kills, it’s also something that is particularly rare, even at the best of times. While it might be easy to get Altar of Lilith Collector, Treasure Goblin Nemesis is a whole different matter.

Diablo 4’s Treasure Goblin Feat of Strength is completely absurd

If you want to get Diablo 4’s Treasure Goblin Nemesis challenge, you need to defeat 6,666,666 Treasure Goblins over the course of the game’s lifetime. Your reward is just the Opulent, Goblin Player Titles. Sure, those are fantastic, and I’d love to get them in my collection of player titles.

According to SeirusPolaris on Reddit, you need to kill a Treasure Goblin every two minutes, non-stop, to get 262,080 goblins in a year. That means, after working 24 hours a day, seven days a week on slaying goblins, you’ll complete this challenge in 25 years and four months. I may be relatively bad at maths, but this doesn’t sound like a great use of time.

Even if you take into account the community events, like the Slay Ride to Hell event going on at the time of writing, it’s not going to make this challenge remotely easier to find. The current event makes Treasure Goblins appear more frequently and rewards the community for slaying hordes of the treasure-dropping creatures. At least you can claim a free Resplendent Spark from this event by going to the goblin statue in Kyovashad.

Now, if the community event also contributed to this Diablo 4 challenge even by 1% or something, it would make this challenge slightly easier. It makes no sense for Blizzard’s developers to include this in the game. The only feasible answer is something that Redditor Blade740 and MrFC1000 posit — a secret Goblin Level.

Is it possible that there’s a hidden Treasure Goblin level, akin to the Secret Cow Level? Sure, it’s feasible. Players still haven’t found a Secret Cow Level in Diablo 4, though occasionally they find hints that might lead to it, nothing has shown up to hint at a Secret Goblin Level.

While it’s possible, it’s not likely. There’s no telling why Blizzard put this ludicrous challenge into D4 — I have only defeated 11 or 12 Treasure Goblins on my current character. That’s one of the things about that enemy type — they are relatively rare.

You really have to invest a lot of time into the game to locate and defeat them. While Treasure Goblin Nemesis certainly isn’t impossible, 25+ years is certainly not a worthwhile use of my time.
