Throne and Liberty: 6 lackluster weapon combos you should avoid

Throne and Liberty lets you build weapon combinations with special attributes that complement your playstyle. However, not all combinations are effective in the game. While those like Staff and Dagger can carry you all around the game, there are some combos that can make you a liability on the battlefield.

In this list, we have shared six weapon combos that you should absolutely avoid in Throne and Liberty.

6 ineffective weapon combos in Throne and Liberty

1) Crossbow + Wand & Tome

The Crossbow + Wand & Tome combination is seen as the weakest weapon duo you can use in Throne and Liberty. While the Wand & Tome offers some healing benefits, its lack of synergy with the Crossbow results in minimal single-target burst damage and mostly-ineffective healing.

This combination fails to fulfill either a damage-dealing or support role, rendering you a liability on the battlefield in most party compositions. Additionally, its poor damage output and insufficient healing make solo play extremely hard. You won’t have any luck in the PvP either, so just try to ignore this combo altogether.

2) Sword & Shield + Crossbow

The Raider class using the Sword & Shield + Crossbow combo is one of the least effective builds in Throne and Liberty. Its damage output and AoE potential are lower than average, making it extremely insignificant in PvP modes, especially if you are fighting on the frontline.

The active and passive skills of this combination lack synergy, leaving players struggling against multiple enemies. While it can be somewhat enjoyable in co-op scenarios with forgiving teammates, the overall performance is underwhelming even when better skills and specialization points are unlocked.

3) Sword & Shield + Staff

While this combo allows for somewhat decent crowd control, its effectiveness is very limited due to low mobility and the conflicting attack ranges of the weapons. Users of the Sword & Shield + Staff combo will struggle in both PvE and PvP scenarios, as its damage output falls behind when compared to other options in Throne and Liberty.

Additionally, the lack of healing capabilities makes solo play particularly difficult, forcing you to rely heavily on healing items. While it may perform decently as a tank in co-op scenarios, its overall effectiveness and versatility are too low and you should avoid it.

While the Longbow provides reliable long-range damage and some defensive utility, pairing it with Sword & Shield significantly weakens its effectiveness. The lack of synergy between these two weapons results in poor damage output, making the combination underwhelming in Throne and Liberty's PvP.

Moreover, the Sword & Shield levels up quite slowly in PvE, leaving the Longbow as the only useful weapon until players can get or use any other more effective combo.

5) Greatsword + Longbow

The Greatsword and Longbow combination, although decent for beginners, suffers from the weapons' conflicting ranges, leading to weak overall damage output. Low survivability (particularly in PvP) and limited healing options make this build extremely hard to play with in both PvE and PvP scenarios.

While you can farm mobs with it, this combo lacks the synergy and durability needed for more advanced aspects of the game. Ultimately, it falls short as a long-term viable option in Throne and Liberty, especially for competitive play.

6) Greatsword + Staff

The Greatsword and Staff combination in Throne and Liberty is a classic example of a glass cannon build that excels early on but falls off drastically as the game progresses. Both weapons in this combo deliver high burst damage, but they lack the mobility and survivability to carry you in difficult scenarios.

The skills for both weapons have long cooldowns, which leaves a lot of downtime when fighting. Additionally, their passive skills fail to complement each other effectively. While it can shine briefly for beginners, this combination struggles to remain viable in the long run.
