Throne and Liberty: Complete Resistance Contracts guide

In Throne and Liberty, Resistance Contracts are one of the main refreshable tasks you can do daily. These are available to you from a very early point in the game, but their relevance never wanes even after you start preparing for the 2-star late-game dungeons. They provide a highly accessible way to farm numerous progression materials — from blueprints for green gear to Training Dew for weapon Mastery.

Each Contract is a straightforward bounty you can take from a board, but there's a lot of detail about them that the game does not overtly explain. In this beginner-friendly Throne and Liberty guide, we'll give you a rundown of everything you need to know.

What are Contract Rights in Throne and Liberty?

Before we discuss Contracts, Contract Rights are something worth knowing about. Contract Rights are an exclusive currency which is spent in order to accept a Resistance Contract. Depending on the level range of the Contract's objective, it can take anything from 1 to 4 Contract Rights to accept one.

Like most other time-gating currencies in Throne and Liberty, its acquisition is tied to the daily reset. Every day, your character automatically gets 10 Contract Rights, and up to a maximum storage cap of 60. Once you reach that capacity, all outstanding daily income of Contract Rights is nullified until you spend some. However, some players have reported an overflow of four or five extra Contract Rights beyond the max capacity.

As long as you have enough Contract Rights, you can take Resistance Contracts from any Contract Manager in Solisium. In the current Global build of the game, there are five Contract Managers to be found in:

  • Starlight Observatory Ruins
  • Vienta Village
  • Sanctuary Oasis
  • Watcher’s Post
  • Purelight Tower

All Contract Managers will give you Contracts within two or three nearby areas. For example, Watcher's Post Contracts will always be in either the Ruins of Turayne or Fonos Basin.

There will be six Resistance Contracts on the board at any given time, and you can reroll the entire board after accepting one, by spending a few Sollants. You can also only accept up to five concurrent Resistance Contracts at any given time.

What are Contract Coins in Throne and Liberty?

Contract Coins are an exclusive currency in Throne and Liberty that you only get from completing Resistance Contracts. The amount you get from each Contract depends on the area of the Contract Manager:

  • Starlight Observatory: 15 coins
  • Vienta Village: 22 coins
  • Sanctuary Oasis: 28 coins
  • Purelight Tower: 30 coins
  • Watcher’s Post: 30 coins

Generally, even Starlight Observatory Contracts are worth taking on and grinding in the late-game, as only these can give you Quality Lithographs for crafting various green gear (for the Lithograph Book or potentially even selling if you get Great Success).

However, if you want to only farm Contract Coins, the best option so far is the Purelight Tower ones. This will give you bounties in either the immediate vicinity or Shattered Temple. Reroll the Contracts and accept only the Censor Blessing, Mana Recording Device, and resource-gathering Contracts, and you can get a nice rotation that's easy to memorize.

Contract Coins can be spent at the Contract Coin Merchant in Kaslteton, Vienta Village, or Stoneguard Castle. The main reason you want to farm these is to buy Precious Blessing Pouches (one every daily reset) to get a chance at random purple gear. With 1500 Contract Coins, you can also get a guaranteed purple Resistance weapon of your choosing.

Alongside Resistance Contracts, there's another form of late-game Contract you can take via Contract Scrolls. These are essentially the same as Resistance Contracts, except they take place in the open-world dungeons (only on Level 50 floors) and come with the possibility of getting purple weapons as a clearance reward.

Allied Contract Scrolls can be purchased from Sundries Merchants, or farmed from various other sources. Once opened, these will let you get a Scroll Contract in an open-world dungeon in the indicated area.

You can spend Sollants to reroll the objectives before you accept a Scroll Contract. This allows you to take identical Scroll Contracts and clear them concurrently. Like regular Resistance Contracts, you also have max cap of five active Scroll Contracts at the same time.

A lower tier of Scroll Contracts takes place in Taedal's Tower (Floor 15 and above), but these cannot reward you Blessings Pouches.
