Throne and Liberty: How to defeat Stealer of Light Dren (Taedal Floor 15)

The Throne and Liberty Stealer of Light Dren (Taedal Floor 15) boss is located on Floor 15 of Taedal’s Tower. Don't be fooled by his elegant presence as he is menacing in combat and has quite a few tricks up his sleeve. It seems that he's a vampire, which would explain why one of his attacks features blood as the main component.

With a bit of preparation, you should be able to counter his attacks and stay out of harm's way for the duration of the fight. Once you defeat him, you will be able to continue to the next phase of Taedal’s Tower.

Basic Attack: The Stealer of Light Dren (Taedal Floor 15) boss has a basic attack that deals quite a bit of damage. It's nothing too alarming if you're rocking a Tank or Ranged build, but for other classes, things could get a bit dicey if you stay in the fray for too long. He will also occasionally stun you.

Fury Attack: Akin to other bosses, Stealer of Light Dren also has a Fury Attack. This is a close-range melee attack that you can dodge or block depending on your choice. That said, blocking and countering will be the best option as it will allow you to deal more damage for a brief period, giving you the edge in combat.

Blood Lance: This nasty ability deals AOE damage. As the name suggests, Stealer of Light Dren summons a pool of blood that spreads out in a straight line. If you're caught in this pool of blood, you will take significant damage over time. Your queue to limit the damage dealt will be to look out for the words "Feel The Despair."

The Throne and Liberty Stealer of Light Dren (Taedal Floor 15) boss will teleport behind you, utter these words, and almost immediately summon the Blood Lance. If you're quick enough, you can evade most of the damage.

Shadows In The Dark: During the fight, the Throne and Liberty Stealer of Light Dren (Taedal Floor 15) boss will turn out the lights in the arena (quite literally). Everything will go dark, and you will be teleported to one end of the arena. A single ball of light will appear at the opposite end.

You will have to carefully navigate your way, weaving past the Shadows of Throne Stealer of Light Dren to reach the ball of light and interact with it. Do take care not to walk/run into one of the Shadows as it will be lights out for you (again, quite literally).

Once you interact with the ball of light, the arena will once more be illuminated. The Stealer of Light Dren (Taedal Floor 15) boss will reappear in the middle of the arena and be stunned for a brief duration of time. Use this opportunity to deal damage to him with impunity.
