Throne and Liberty Queen Bellandir Archboss guide
The Queen Bellandir Archboss, otherwise known as the Desert Overlord, is one of the pinnacle PvE bosses in Throne and Liberty. Queen Bellandir, just like Tevent, represents a daunting hurdle for any seasoned guild during the conflict mode. The boss doesn't bode well for the assembled masses during Peace mode, as its poisonous attacks can decimate you easily.
This guide will attempt to outline all the necessary skills, mechanics, and preparations you will need to face off against the monarch of the Sandworm Lair.
Throne and Liberty Queen Bellandir Archboss location and schedule
Queen Bellandir, like Tevent, appears once per week on a set schedule. The Desert Overlord spawns inside the Queen's Trap area in the Sandworm Lair zone. The boss spawns at 22:00 server time every Saturday and switches between the Conflict and Peace versions every week.
There are multiple ways to reach Queen's Trap, but the easiest is to travel southwest from the Ant's Nest dungeon waypoint and follow the road that cuts through the area. The second method is to travel to the Sandworm Lair waypoint and use Piton hook points to reach the location.
During Peace mode, anywhere from one to a maximum of three Dimensional portals will spawn, each opening separate instances of the boss fight so that many players can participate. The Conflict variant will spawn one public instance of the boss where guilds and alliances can vie for supremacy and loot.
How to prepare for the Queen Bellandir Archboss in Throne and Liberty
Queen Bellandir requires a much more serious preparation phase than Tevent. The Desert Overlord inflicts heavy poison damage and dot effects with its many attacks. Therefore, stock up on Queen's Venom Neutralizer to remove the more debilitating dot effects.
This item is only available from Guild Merchant, so you should join an active guild to participate in contracts and donate items for Guild Coins. This item can also be crafted at the Senior Sundries Crafter, as Guild Merchants in conquered cities can be blocked from selling this item.
Other than that, standard preparation methods should suffice for Queen Bellandir. Stocking up on Quality Recovery Potions and consuming Defense-boosting food should set everyone up for success. Fully ranged DPS players using Longbow/Staff kits are at an advantage as most of Queen Bellandir's attacks do not have the range to harm them seriously. Melee players such as Sword/Greatsword Tanks are unfortunately required to use their faces to absorb the punishment.
How to beat Queen Bellandir in Throne and Liberty: Complete Mechanics guide
Queen Bellandir, due to being a giant Sandworm, is right at home in the sands of the Queen's Trap and uses the environment to unleash devastating attacks on enemy forces. The boss has multiple unique attacks to look out for and additional debuffs to take care of. Here are all of the important mechanics detailed:
- Fury Attack: Queen Bellandir is unique as it has two Fury attacks. The first is Bellandir smashing its face onto enemies, dealing massive damage. Failing to block the attack results in Bellandir grabbing you and throwing you onto the ground, dealing massive damage. The second fury attack has Bellandir attacking you with its tail, dealing significant damage. Furthermore, Bellandir burrows out of the ground and damages the surrounding enemies.
- Spawn: Queen Bellandir inflicts a relatively long stun during its spawn animation.
- Burrow: Queen Bellandir often burrows into the ground after shouting unintelligible words and summons a gigantic sandstorm. This storm constantly pulls you in while damaging you, with the damage ramping up as you move closer to the center.
- Larvae Bomb: Occasionally, Queen Bellandir spits out Sandworm larvae onto you, similar to Lequirus from Cave of Destruction. These larvae blow up shortly after spawning and damage surrounding players.
- Leap: Around 10-15% HP, Queen Bellandir leaps into the air and slams down onto the ground, damaging surrounding players.
Unique mechanics
Queen Bellandir's unique mechanic is spitting copious amounts of poison onto players, inflicting massive damage, and applying a strong dot effect. This poison dot can be inflicted via many of the boss's attacks but mainly through the ground pools, so avoiding those is a good way to stay healthy. Once afflicted, however, using the aforementioned Queen's Venom Neutralizer is the only way to rid yourself of this debuff.
General Strategies
Queen Bellandir is uniquely challenging as an Archboss as it has various attacks that can target you both in melee and at range. The biggest tactic in this fight is simply tracking Bellandir's movements to formulate the next skill usage. Here are a few general tips to help you in this fight:
- DPS and Healers should try to stay at range as most of Queen Bellandir's attacks target players in melee range.
- Tanks should always keep their cooldowns active to maximize their defenses and chances of surviving bigger attacks. Investment into Stamina regen gear is highly recommended to help block back-to-back Fury attacks.
- Always carry ample amounts of Queen's Venom Neutralizer. It's necessary to have the item to have a good time in this fight.
- During the Sandstorm phase, using your stamina to Dash Morph away from the center is a much better option than taking a major hit to your HP pool and dying shortly from a stray auto-attack from the boss.
- Queen Bellandir's attacks can be used effectively during Conflict mode to devastate opposing forces. Both the Larva bombs and the Sandstorm can be extremely beneficial to get free damage inflicted onto enemy forces.
