Throne and Liberty Spear Skills and Rotation guide
Spears are the newest addition to the world of Throne and Liberty. This hybridization of a melee and a ranged weapon, Spear is the latest tool to be added in all versions of the game simultaneously, which is a novel feature.
Since its introduction, Spears have become a staple in the current meta, surpassing many previous builds that had established themselves since the game's global launch. Throne and Liberty's class system is based on the weapon choices of a player and, as such, is quite fluid compared to most other MMORPGs in the market.
With its inclusion, Spear has effectively skyrocketed all existing builds with its innate damage potential and the application of a new Weaken effect. This guide will delve into all the skills and their specializations, ideal rotations, and more.
Weapon Skills and Skill Specializations of Throne and Liberty Spears
Spears are no different than other weapons in Throne and Liberty. The weapon comes loaded with ten standard skills, two Omnipotence skills, one defensive skill, and seven passives.
These skills also have their own set of Specializations, which can have 100 points in total by the time players reach level 50. Furthermore, Spears also have a set of 27 Mastery Points to invest in.
Let us dive a little deeper into the details of these skills, specializations, and masteries. For full clarification, the stats of these skills will be counted as if they're on their maximum level and rarity, which is level 5 and Epic.

Weapon skills
As mentioned before, Spear has 10 standard skills and 2 Omnipotence skills, the latter of which can be considered ultimates, thanks to their longer cooldown and strong effects.
These skills are as follows:
Culling Arc
Stabs with a spear and attacks 2 times. Each attack deals damage and applies the Burst weaken effect. At 5 stacks of Burst, the skill increases damage against targets..
Gale Rush
Dashes toward the designated target, dealing damage and applying the Weaken: Burst effect. If the target is in Bound, Collision, Fear, Sleep, or Stun status or in the player's Weaken status, the player can use this skill up to 2 additional times within 3s.
Using Gale Rush on a party member will make the player dash to them, swing the spear, and deal damage to enemies within range with a chance to Stun them for 0.5s.
Javelin Surge
Throws a spear and deals damage to hit targets. Damage increases by 15% for every 1m between you and the target.
Distance increases by up to 4.5 times the attack range proportional to charging time. Has a 90% chance to apply a Brand for 5s. Skill Damage Boost increases by 82 when attacking a Branded target.
Abyssal Cleave
Strikes down with a spear in the target direction, dealing 150% of Base Damage to enemies within 2m range. 80% chance to Stun targets for 2.9s. Targets immune to Stun are Shocked for 7.5s.

Unyielding Sentinel

Tempest Strike
Swings the spear while stationary to deal damage to enemies within a 5m radius and apply Weaken: Burst. Has an 80% chance to apply Push. The Pushed target is Stunned for 1s. If the Pushed target collides with a wall, they are Stunned for 2.8s.

The skill cannot be targeted while in the air, nor can it be canceled using a Defense Skill while in the air. This attack is also counted as a Wrath Attack.
Throne and Liberty Spear passives
Similar to other weapons, the Spear in Throne and Liberty comes equipped with a set of passives that boost all of the skills and slightly increase the overall durability of the class. Spear, in particular, has passives focusing on improving critical strikes and increasing the player's attack speed.
These passives are as follows:
- Nimble Steps: Using a skill that utilizes your location increases Collision and Bind CC Resistances by 120 for 3s. Stacks up to 3 times.
- Imposing Form: 10% chance to increase Skill Damage Boost by 130 for 3s upon inflicting damage using a Spear, Greatsword, Staff, or Longbow skill.
- Fatal Precision: Increases Attack Speed by 2.9% for 3s each time you apply Weaken. Stacks up to 5 times.
- Mortal Wrath: Landing a Critical Hit on a target with 30% Health or less deals additional damage equal to 85% of Base Damage + 36. The skill can be activated up to 3 times per skill.
- Retaliatory Strike: Dealing damage 3 times with an active skill increases the Critical Hit Chance of the next Active Skill used within 6s by 820. Stacks only 1 time per skill. (Ineligible skills Mother Nature's Protest, Umbral Spirit, Thunder Spirit, Ray of Disaster.)
- Death Knell: If a victim of the user's Weaken dies within 10s, has a 30% chance to increase Attack Speed by 34% for 6s. The percent chance to increase Attack Speed is reduced by 15% against monsters.
- Malice Surge: On taking Skill Damage, has a 5% chance to increase Magic, Melee, and Ranged Heavy Attack Chance by 212 for 6s.
Ideal rotations for the Spear in Throne and Liberty
With such a straightforward set of skills that pretty much hinge on camping the Spear as much as possible, the ideal rotation of the weapon varies only depending on the number of enemies being fought.
While players might think it is imperative to switch it up when facing an overland boss or clearing the large group the tank pulled in a dungeon, often, it is the simplest options that get the job done the fastest.
Here is one of our suggestions for an ideal damage rotation against a single target and against multiple enemies. Note that your mileage may vary, considering dungeon bosses and enemies are always attacking, and special mechanics have to be completed, lest everyone wipes.
Single target rotation
Sentinel's Bastion - Gale Rush - Cyclonic Fury - Explosive Fury x5 - Javelin Inferno - Slaughtering Slash
You can fill the gap with other weapon skills as your Spear skills come off cooldown and repeat once they're up.
Multi-target rotation
Explosive Fury x5 - Sentinel's Bastion - Javelin Inferno - Rising Slash
Frankly speaking, most enemies should not survive beyond the Javelin Inferno burst. If anything is still alive, use Flaming Arc to build up your ember stacks again and follow up with Phoenix Barrage to drain those stacks for massive damage.

Note that your ideal rotation will largely depend on the second weapon type, making your kit even stronger in almost every case. However, the Spear is strong enough to see you through most encounters.
