Throne and Liberty T2 gear delayed, Global release progression to be different from the Korean version
Throne and Liberty's highly anticipated Tier-2 (T2) gear has been delayed, as the developer is monitoring the player base's progression and adjusting the content pipeline accordingly. Announced back in September 2024 in the Autumn content roadmap, the T2 gear is slated to be the direct upgrade over the current ones available from Dungeons and Field bosses.
This delay in the content pipeline — alongside the changes to the Substance Transformation system from the Korean version — confirms that Amazon Games and NCSoft are closely monitoring the Global server's evolving nature. It also points to the fact that the developers aren't afraid to fundamentally alter the release schedule of the Global client compared to the original Korean client.
Why will T2 gear be delayed in Throne and Liberty's Global client?
The launch of T2 gear in Throne and Liberty's Global client has been delayed so players do not feel rushed to upgrade their relatively freshly obtained Purple-tier gear from Dungeons, Field bosses, and Archbosses.
On the original Korean servers, the T2 gear arrived alongside this dungeon level. As a result, gamers on those servers experienced a smooth transition, with plenty of time to familiarize themselves with their leveled and fully-traited Tier-1 gear.
The situation is different for the Global client, as it has only been around for two months and players are still getting familiarized with the title's various systems. Furthermore, the Global client's content pipeline is catching up to the Korean one, which is almost a year ahead. Thus, the developers have decided to delay the influx of a brand-new tier of vertical progression.
Solutions from the studio
There has been no major communication from the developer regarding this issue, since they announced the delay in the September 2024 roadmap. However, looking into the available content in the Korean client offers a potential solution.
In a recent Reddit post, several screenshots from the Korean servers' T2 dungeon loot table showcased Field boss gear pieces being offered as potential drops.
As evidenced by the images in Reddit user Substantial-Cod-4131's post, players on those servers can obtain valuable items — Shock Commander Plate Armor and Swirling Essence Robes — upon defeating Kertaki in the Island of Terror dungeon, the T2 variant of Tyrant's Isle dungeon.
The screenshots also outline the entire loot table in the T2 dungeons, which shows the following:
- Island of Terror: Chest pieces
- Valley of Slaughter: Helmets
- Carmine Rage Island: Boots
- Torture Chamber of Screams: Legs
- Voidwastes: Boots
According to the screenshots, the T2 variants of Death's Abyss, Temple of Slaughter, and Cave of Destruction have been replaced by two new dungeons called Torture Chamber of Screams and Carmine Rage Island. Furthermore, these dungeons have a minimum requirement of 2,500 combat power and have entirely new boss tokens that can be used for crafting purposes.
The screenshots also showcase an advanced tier of dungeons beyond T2, featuring completely new bosses and potentially fresh locations. Information regarding these 3-star or T3 dungeons is still scarce.
Despite such an in-depth look into the Korean servers' content, players should note that it is subject to change and won't necessarily be reflected in the Global client.
