War Thunder Black Prince stats and recommendation: Is it any good?
War Thunder has quite a few rare vehicles, and the A43 Black Prince is one of them. It is a highly modified Churchill at Rank IV, Battle Rating 6.0. The Black Prince is one of the strongest vehicles at its BR. However, it is not easy to acquire. This Heavy Tank is available for a limited time each year during the Black Friday sale in the Gaijin Store.
It might also be periodically available in the Item Shop in-game, but acquiring it from the Item Shop is a gamble as you will need to spend Golden Eagles for a chance draw of the tank along with four different rewards.

War Thunder: Black Prince stats
The best features of the Black Prince are its armor and firepower. The frontal armor is 152mm thick on both the hull and the turret. Therefore, if you angle slightly while facing the enemy, most of the shots fired at you will bounce off. However, don't angle too much as the side armor is pretty weak, coming in at just 92mm.
The main armament of this Heavy Tank is the 76mm QF 17-pounder cannon, which can fire APDS shells apart from the regular APCBC shells. This gives you an advantage against enemy Heavy Tanks as APDS can penetrate a lot more than conventional shells. However, the post-pen damage is pretty low for this shell, so try shooting at the vital areas of the enemy tank.
The biggest downside of the Black Prince is its mobility. This 50-ton tank can only travel forward at a maximum speed of 18kmph. Its maximum reverse speed is 7.3kmph. This will make traversing rough terrains and slopes very difficult and tedious. Also, if your gun gets disabled, you won't be fast enough to get away.

How good is the Black Prince in War Thunder?
All in all, the Black Prince is one of the most effective tanks at its BR in War Thunder. It can easily survive hits from most tanks at its BR and those from a lower tier as well. It can also survive various higher-tiered tanks if angled properly. The main threat to the tank mostly comes from the long-barrelled German cannons.
On top of that, this Heavy Tank is also a Premium Tank, making it easier for you to grind Ranks I to V in the British tech tree. All these stats and features make the Black Prince a very worthwhile tank to acquire in the game.
