Warframe 1999: How to start The Hex Finale

Digital Extremes have snuck in a surprise with their latest mainline update for Warframe 1999: a secret quest called The Hex Finale, which unlocks midway through the exploration of Hollvania. A new method of storytelling in terms of Warframe's narrative design, The Hex Finale picks up right after the apparent betrayal by Albrecht Entrati in the initial questline.

Warframe 1999 is now live, bringing with it a host of new content, including missions, a boss fight against the H-09 Efervon Tank, locations, enemies, and factions, and most importantly, a narrative-driven Syndicate. In this guide, we will look into all the boxes that have to be ticked for The Hex Finale to be playable.

Here are the necessary steps to initiate The Hex Finale ending in Warframe 1999

The Hex questline is the first to have a definitive ending, unlike other narrative updates in Warframe. Unfortunately, rather than being difficult, achieving this ending is a lengthy and somewhat time-gated process. Here's the short and sweet of how to begin The Hex Finale:

  • Reach Rank 3 - 2-For-1 for The Hex syndicate
  • Reach Liked status on the Chemistry Rank with every Hex member
  • Go to the Backrooms
  • Interact with Kalymos to begin the final day sequence

How to reach Rank 3 on Hex syndicate

While there are multiple ways to reach the requisite rank for the syndicate, all of them involve delving headfirst into Hollvania missions. Syndicate rankings can be increased by accumulating syndicate standing, which can be done via two methods.

First, if you play the Hollvania missions from the POM-2 system, you can find eight syndicate medallions scattered all around the tileset. These items show up on the loot radar, so equipping your companion with Animal Radar will be greatly beneficial.

The second way to gain standing is by tackling bounties from the bounty board near the Atomicycle garage. Aside from granting standing, these bounties have several additional bonuses such as dropping Cyte-09 parts and Hollvania materials, as well as boasting bonus objectives for even more rewards.

The aforementioned syndicate medallions from missions can be redeemed for standing at Lettie. However, we suggest saving these medallions until the appropriate ranks have been reached, as some are needed for the rank-up process.

In short, to reach Rank 3 on The Hex, you will need a total of 71,000 standing. For the rank-up, you will need a total of 85,000 hollers (credits), 30 Hollvanian Pitchweave Fragments, 15 Efervon Samples, 12 Entrati Obols, 5 Experimental Arc-Relays, and one each of the six Hex medallions. But while collecting these seems daunting, worry not as the items can be easily gathered in a few missions.

Getting "Liked" by The Hex members

The second part of this puzzle is increasing your relationship or romance level with each of the Hex members. Once again, you'll need to be "Liked" by all of them on the KIM system. Doing so can be a little tricky, but there are ways to bypass any failure to strike up a conversation.

The Chemistry Rank will increase every time you make a successful conversation with each of the Hex members. These conversation prompts will show up as golden on the KIM system, and each member can be conversed with once per day (server reset).

The second method to increase your Chemistry is by giving them gifts through the DIRECTGIFTZ store, which can be accessed by the Gift icon on each member's Profile section. Each member can only receive one gift per day and the results are instantaneous. Here are some suggestions for gifts that will give the most Chemistry Progression for each member.

Bounty missions can also increase Chemistry in The Hex Finale, should you run it with the members and complete their requisite bonus objectives. Furthermore, completing Calendar objectives can unlock birthdays, where you can send a message and directly increase Chemistry with the member. For example, this seasonal cycle features Lettie's birthday.

Regardless of how you achieve either of the objectives, the next objective is to simply interact with Kalymos inside the Backroom. Following the prompt "Attempt New Year's Eve Again?" and the short mission of retreading your steps through the last day of Hollvania, you will have changed fate itself and completed The Hex Finale in Warframe 1999.
