All Abilities of the upcoming Cyte-09 Warframe

Cyte-09 is the 59th unique Warframe, coming to the game this winter with the upcoming Warframe: 1999 update. The titular war machines in this game tend to have very extravagant designs and character concepts, but Cyte-09 is tame by comparison. Even though it's an anagram of "Technocyte," the general archetype of this Warframe is derived from the average modern-day military marksman.

That said, Cyte-09's Warframe Abilities are anything but average. With innate heal, extendable invisibility, and what seems like an extremely powerful damage-buffing tool, Cyte-09 is set up to be a formidable weapons platform. He will certainly keep up with the power ceiling we expect from the current-day meta, and here's everything we know about the Abilities.

The official website currently has all of Cyte-09 Warframe Abilities listed. That said, more details will be revealed during the upcoming Devstream on November 29, 2024, so stay tuned.

At the moment, here's all the known details:

First Ability: Seek

"Plant an antenna that projects a forward wave scan. Detected enemies take increased Weak Point Damage, and become visible through walls. Weapons gain Punchthrough."

Seek's functionality appears to be very similar to the original version of the Zenith primary. Cyte-09 is the second Warframe to feature a skillset that adds punch-through to weapons, and given his design flavor, it makes sense to add some recon utility to his toolbelt.


Second Ability: Resupply

"Throw two Elemental Ammo Packs that instantly refill the active weapon’s magazine, while granting the weapon an additional instance of the selected Elemental Damage and Status Effect. Reload clears the effect. Sniper Rifles gain extra damage. Hold the ability to select the Elemental Damage type."

This will be especially good for weapons with a high reload downtime, including shotguns with a per-shell reload like Strun. However, how the additional damage instance will work is up to further revelations upon release. If it works similarly to Saryn's Toxic Lash, this can open up a whole array of possible synergies and exploits.


Third Ability: Evade

"Jump backwards and become invisible for a short duration. Killing enemies extends the duration and heals Cyte-09."

In other words, Evade can potentially become a source of permanent invisibility as long as you can keep chaining kills.


Fourth Ability: Neutralizer

"Summon the Neutralizer, Cyte-09’s exalted Sniper Rifle. Bullets ricochet off Weak Points to seek out other nearby Weak Points. Alt fire lobs a Cold grenade that completely freezes enemies."

Other than the clear-cut synergy with Seek (first ability), not much is known about the Neutralizer. Like all other Exalted weapons, it will be separately moddable and cannot have Rivens or Arcanes, meaning the stats on it can make a world of difference.
