WoW Classic 2025 Roadmap: Mists Classic, Fresh Classic servers, and more
WoW Classic’s 2025 Roadmap was also a big part of the Warcraft 30th Anniversary livestream. While not as much information was given compared to what awaits the Retail servers, there are still at least three Classic servers that will be going at once — at least, until 2025 starts properly. While the WoW Cataclysm Classic servers and 20th Anniversary Edition servers will run through 2025, Season of Discovery will not go all the way through next year.
We know when Phase 6 of WoW Classic Season 6 is going to begin, and there will be one final phase after that. The year-long experiment is sadly almost over. However, there's tons of WoW Classic content coming in 2025, as we saw on the Roadmap. Here’s what you can expect.
Note: As we learn more about these events, this article will be updated accordingly.
What awaits the WoW Classic servers on the 2025 Roadmap?
The 2025 roadmap for WoW Classic highlights three sets of servers: Cataclysm Classic, 20th Anniversary Classic, and Season of Discovery. While the Season of Discovery was originally going to end in 2024, it appears that it’s going to at least go through early 2025, until the end of Winter/beginning of Spring. This is likely due to some of the content being pushed back earlier this year.
Some of the content on the roadmap has already appeared or is at least in development. Cataclysm Classic has the Firelands Raid, Elemental Rune Dungeons, and the unlocking of Dragonwrath, Taregosa’s Rest legendary staff. There has been some talk of making it easier to farm on the Classic servers, as well.
There will also be the WoW Classic 20th Anniversary servers, which will feature fresh PvE, Hardcore, PvP, and RP servers to play on. Phase 5 of Season of Discovery has already begun, so players can access Blackwing Lair Raid, Zul’Gurub Raid, and Simplified Rune Discovery.
Cataclysm Classic’s Winter update will bring the Hour of Twilight update to WoW Classic Cataclysm, including Dragon Soul, Caverns of Time Dungeons, and more Elemental Rune Dungeons. The 20th Anniversary Classic servers will have Phase 1 kick-off (Molten Core and Onyxia), and then Phase 2 in Late Winter, which is the Ruins of Dire Maul. It will also add the Honor System, PVP Ranking, World Bosses, and Warsong Gulch/Alterac Valley battlegrounds.
This is where we’ll also see the end of Season of Discovery - Phase 7. We do know that the Naxxramas Raid will be a part of it, as well as mysterious new End Game Content that we’ve likely never seen before.
In Summer 2025, WoW Classic Cataclysm will shift to Mists of Pandaria Classic, with the Pre-Patch content — Theramore’s Fall, Pandaren Unlock, Monk Unlock, and Pet Battles appearing. In Autumn 2025, the main storyline for Mists will arrive, as will the raids, dungeons, and a variety of scenarios.
WoW Classic 20th Anniversary, on the other hand, has a very busy year coming up. Phase 3 drops in Spring, which is Assault on Blackwing Lair, in addition to the Darkmoon Faire. Interestingly enough, the Arathi Basin battleground won’t show up until Phase 4: Rise of the Blood God. This predictably gives players the Zul’Gurub Raid.
Autumn 2025 brings Phase 5 and Phase 6 of World of Warcraft Classic for the 2025 Roadmap. Gates of Ahn’Qiraj unlocks in early Autumn, with both AQ20/AQ40 raids opening their gates for players.
Phase 6 will unlock the Scourge Invasion event, Naxxramas Raid, and Silithus World PVP. The last teaser of content is that sometime between Winter/Spring 2026, Burning Crusade Classic will come to these Fresh servers.
