You can dual wield two-handed weapons in Path of Exile 2
One of the newer Keystones in Path of Exile 2 will allow players to equip two-handers in both weapon slots, opening up newer ways to wreak havoc in-game. Weapons are the primary source to obtain all applicable Skill gems in Path of Exile 2, which in turn form the foundations of the builds in the game.
Weapons can be wielded in the main hand with the off-hand slot being occupied by a supporting shield. However, they can also be dual wielded for greater offensive purposes. This feature is not limited at all, owing to Grinding Gear Games' philosophy of allowing freedom of build crafting — even spellcasters can dual wield wands and scepters to maximize damage.
A Keystone passive lets you dual wield two-handers in Path of Exile 2
Giant's Blood is the new Keystone that makes this power fantasy possible. It will let players equip any Two-handed Mace, Axe, and Sword as a one-handed weapon, allowing them to wield two weapons of the same type or any combination of the three.
Similar to all of the known Path of Exile 2 Keystones, however, Giant's Blood will double the attribute requirements to equip all weapons. For example, a Coronal Maul from Path of Exile will require 440 Strength to wield it instead of 220. Similarly, a Fleshripper Axe will require 362 Strength and 168 Dexterity to wield, while a Banishing Blade-type Sword will need 260 of Strength and Dexterity each.
These are examples of two-handed weapon base types in Path of Exile with the highest DPS output, which are being used as an example because Path of Exile 2 is set to have many more options than the prequel. However, the point still stands that these weapons are already some of the most sought-after items in the game. Having two of these will elevate any strike build to even greater heights.
Even a theoretical Fleshripper with all T1 modifiers can have the lowest DPS value of 1159, which can go up to the maximum of 1241. Being able to dual wield two of these will add an astronomical power spike, thanks to all the added damage effectiveness from the Passive Skill tree modifiers. This can be further augmented by high-level items with Added Physical Damage modifiers, which can either be crafted or obtained from Path of Exile 2's endgame encounters.
This Keystone is currently located in the lower left quadrant of the Passive Skill tree, making it an easy pick for any Duelist, Marauder, and Warrior, with Templar being a potential fourth. The Titan Ascension class for Warrior can use these weapons to deal tremendous damage with their Ancestral boosted Slam skills.
