Indus Battle Royale and PUBG Mobile have gained immense popularity recently in the battle royale genre. What are the five major differences between Indus Battle Royale and PUBG Mobile?

1) Art direction

The most noticeable aspect is the origin of the two games. Indus Battle Royale was created by SuperGaming and heavily inspired by Indian culture. It includes Indo-futuristic art direction and a story based around a resource called Cosmium. It is apparent in character designs, environments and even in gameplay mechanics of the games that are influenced by this culture.

On the other hand, PUBG Mobile, developed by Tencent, finds itself themed after the various militaries of the world and has graphics and environments that have a realistic art style.

2) Fresh gameplay system

New to Indus Battle Royale is the “Grudge System” that allows players to set a grudge against the players who kill them and they will surely meet them in the next round. This mechanic brings the element of rivalries within the game.

However, PUBG Mobile is a game that focuses on the classic battle royale with an emphasis on the survival of the fittest, which includes the search for weapons and resources in a vast area.

3) Pacing

Another major difference between Indus Battle Royale and PUBG Mobile is the pace of the matches. The games in Indus are expected to be short, and most can be completed within 10 to 15 minutes. This shorter duration makes it possible to make quick decisions and engage in quick battles, which is perfect for players who want the rush.

On the other hand, the matches in PUBG Mobile take about 25-30 minutes, which gives more time for the players to roam around the larger maps with different topographies.

4) Character customization

Indus introduces Paragons, characters with special abilities that give players certain combat advantages or defensive tactics. The Paragon abilities encourage different combat strategies that change based on environmental context and opponent play style.

But PUBG Mobile includes character customization in the form of skins and outfits, but without any gameplay-altering abilities, it is a realistic, skill-based combat where only player skill determines the outcome.

5) Gunplay

Indus has a stylized gunplay but it is tactically demanding, with futuristic weapons that often have their own unique attributes, and you will have to adapt to the rhythm and effects of each firearm. Each weapon may have its own time-based effect, or projectile behavior, forcing players to learn each option for maximum efficiency.

On the other hand, PUBG Mobile emphasizes realistic gun mechanics, such as extensive recoil patterns, bullet drop and ammunition management, for a more immersive combat experience. The realistic factor for PUBG Mobile appeals to players who prefer to control recoil and choose the right weapon while Indus offers a unique weapon variety that rewards creative tactics in high-stakes engagements.
