Rainbow Six Mobile Release Roadmap: Soft launch and all phases explained
Ubisoft has announced a comprehensive roadmap for the release of Rainbow Six Mobile (R6M), detailing the phases of testing and improvements made since the game's initial beta. The developer has announced it is preparing the game for launch after taking it through a series of tests.
After pausing the rollout of new territories and content in March 2024, the development team focused on enhancing gameplay based on community feedback, optimizing server performance, and introducing new features. Since the last beta, Ubisoft has made significant changes to Rainbow Six Mobile, including adjustments to the economy system and aesthetics.
The team has responded to player feedback by implementing new game features and improving overall stability. These enhancements aim to provide players with a seamless experience characterized by high frame rates and graphical fidelity across mobile devices.
Rainbow Six Mobile: Road to Global Release
The journey towards a global launch involves three distinct testing phases:
- Phase 1 - Technical Test: This initial phase focuses on evaluating the technical aspects of the game. The team will monitor server performance, track errors, and address any bugs that arise during gameplay. This phase is crucial for ensuring that Rainbow Six Mobile operates smoothly across different devices.
- Phase 2 - Engagement Test: Upon successful completion of the technical test, the next phase will assess player engagement with the new features. This phase aims to gauge how well players enjoy the game and whether they remain engaged over time.
- Phase 3 - Transitioning to global launch: If the engagement test meets expectations, Ubisoft will finalize adjustments before launching R6M worldwide. This includes deploying data centers globally, balancing game mechanics, and fixing any remaining bugs identified in earlier phases. The final build will then be submitted to Apple and Google for approval.
The developers at Ubisoft said in their statement that they will release a new devlog and the first phase of testing will officially resume the soft launch of Rainbow Six Mobile.
"This week, we'll be dropping a new devlog with more details about Phase 1, including all the new features and improvements we’ve made to the game. Phase 1 will also officially resume our Soft Launch and kick off the rollout of new live content to get feedback from the community. We know it's been a long time waiting (for us too!) and we're eager for the continuation of Soft Launch, and hope this update sheds some light on the situation and next steps. Your ongoing patience and feedback are greatly appreciated!
Rainbow Six Mobile promises a tactical shooter experience akin to its console and PC counterparts but tailored for mobile devices. The development team remains committed to delivering upon player expectations and adding a fresh dynamic to the ever-growing world of mobile gaming.
