I have a new subscriber! Leclerc's locked-out girlfriend signs up to Twitch to get back in apartment
Charles Leclerc possibly has a little making up to do after his locked-out girlfriend was forced to subscribe to his Twitch channel in order for him to open their apartment door.
The Ferrari driver was engrossed in testing a rally simulator live on the platform and did not realise his partner, Charlotte, was attempting to contact his phone to let him know she had forgotten her keys.
Desperate times called for desperate measures and so Leclerc gained a new, and perhaps a little unwitting, subscriber to his channel after waiting outside for 25 minutes.
Reacting live on the stream Leclerc said: "Ah! My girlfriend! My girlfriend is on Twitch telling me to open the apartment, poor her! Wait a second…"
When he returned, a smiling Leclerc explained: "So my girlfriend had to subscribe to my Twitch channel to tell me that I had to open the door, so I gained a subscription. I'm so happy."

Evidently both saw the funny side as Leclerc posted, with a laughing face emoji, on Twitter: "Resume of the stream:
"My girlfriend had to buy a subscription to my Twitch to be able to ask me in the channel chat if I could open her the front door.
"She waited 25 mins downstairs as I couldn't hear my phone, I had the headphones and was very focus [sic] on my rally race."
He later added: "She only subscribed one month though..."
