Verstappen pipped three times on Supercars Eseries debut
Max Verstappen finished second in three of the four races on his Supercars All-Stars Eseries debut on Wednesday.
The Red Bull superstar last month revealed he would not be partaking in Formula One's Virtual Grand Prix Series - in which Liam Payne and Ben Stokes have starred - as he was not used to Codemasters' F1 2019.
"I always race to win," he told Ziggo TV at the time. "I'm not going to drive around somewhere at the back. Then I'd rather not participate at all."
Verstappen was tempted by the opportunity to make his Supercars bow as a wildcard, however.
With the first two races at Silverstone, the Dutchman endured contrasting fortunes, finishing second in the initial event but 18th in the second.
Anton De Pasquale and Cam Waters claimed victories, but Red Bull dominated in the second half of the event at the Barcelona track.
Red Bull colleague Shane van Gisbergen twice led Verstappen home for one-twos.

Despite the failure to secure a personal victory, Verstappen appeared to have enjoyed the experience.
"The races are over - it was a lot of fun, very hectic as well" he said. "There were some good results in the end, and I didn't expect that.
"Three times P2, not bad. Two times a one-two for Red Bull, with Shane, so I'm very happy about that.
"We worked really well together in that final race, especially with the strategy for him to pit a bit later and have better tyres for the end.
"It was really cool. I want to say a massive thanks to Supercars for letting me drive, and of course also to Red Bull for sorting out everything. Very cool livery, as well.
"I hope you guys [the fans] liked it, and hopefully I can be back soon for some more action."
