Are Jeff Burton and Jeb Burton related? All you need to know

Jeb Burton, one of the frontrunners to take the Burton family name to the next level in NASCAR, has made quite a name for himself. The current Xfinity Series driver is one of the most recognized faces in the second series of NASCAR and is the nephew of Jeff Burton, a renowned former Cup Series driver.

Jeff Burton is one of the first Burton members to have raced in NASCAR and is the younger brother of Ward Burton, another former Cup Series driver. Notably, Ward Burton is Jeb Burton's father, which means Jeb is Jeff Burton's nephew and Harrison Burton's cousin.

Jeff Burton's son Harrison Burton is also a popular name in the Stock car racing fraternity. Harrison currently races in the NASCAR Cup Series for Wood Brother Racing and drives the #21 Ford Mustang Dark Horse. He was in the news recently for winning the 2024 Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway.

Jeffrey Taylor Burton, popularly known as Jeff Burton, competed in all three NASCAR racing series: the Cup Series, the Xfinity Series, and the Camping Truck Series. However, he is majorly known for his stint in the Cup Series.

The former driver has 695 Cup Series races under his belt and claimed 23 race wins, six pole positions, and 255 Top 10s. His Xfinity Series race statistics were better, with 306 race entries, 27 wins, 11 pole positions, and 153 Top 10s.

Jeb Burton's father, Ward Burton, is also a former Stock Car racing driver who entered all three series during his racing career, primarily in the Cup Series and Xfinity Series. Ward Burton's statistics boast five Cup Series and four Xfinity Series wins.

Jeb Burton was Born in Halifax, Virginia, on August 6, 1992, to Ward and Tabitha Burton. He has two other siblings. Burton completed his graduation from Halifax County High School in 2011 and had an early introduction to racing because of his family.

After having some decent stints in the Whelen All-American Series, Late Model series, and multiple other racing disciplines, Burton made his stock car racing debut for Eddie Sharp Racing in 2011, where he drove the #6 Toyota Camry.

Regarded as a rising star in Stock Car racing, he made his Truck Series debut the very next year for Hillman Racing. It was not long before he found his Xfinity Series ride (in 2013.)

While he raced full-time in the Truck Series, Jeb Burton received the opportunity to make his Cup Series debut for BK Racing in 2015. His last race in the series was in 2019, and the 32-year-old currently competes in the Xfinity Series for Jordan Anderson Racing, with whom he registered two career victories in 2021, and 2023.
