Is Joey Logano religious? Here’s what Penske's driver believes

NASCAR is one of the few sports which has a pre-race prayer ritual, on the broadcast. This shows the importance of faith and religion that NASCAR advocates, in general, and Joey Logano feels no different.

NASCAR drivers come from various backgrounds and religions. On any Sunday morning during race weekends, it is not uncommon to see NASCAR drivers repeating these words from the Apostles' Creed: “I believe in God, the Father Almighty.”

Much like other drivers of different faiths, Logano keeps and respects his own and others. When asked if faith plays an important role in his life and racing career, here's what the Team Penske driver said during his conversation with Chef Robert Irvine, in 2022:

"I think everyone’s faith is obviously their decision and what they choose to do with your life, but for me, it is God and family as the things you put up there first."

Joey Logano is currently competing for his third NASCAR Cup Series championship. The two-time (2018 and 2022) champion made it through to the Round of 12 this season. He has +4 points entering his next race at Talladega this weekend.

Almost a decade ago, Joey Logano was regarded as one of the best young talents in NASCAR. And the man from Middletown did not disappoint. He lived up to the expectations and coming into 2024, he stands as one of the most sought-after NASCAR drivers.

Almost all the sportspersons during their career get asked the one question: what inspired them to become what they are today? it was no different for Logano. When asked the same, Logano said in the same interview,

"I’m very lucky to find a passion at a young age. I love cars," Logano "Loved to play with Hot Wheels. Santa Claus brought me a go-kart this one year and that was it. I would drive my go-kart every single day. I wouldn’t skip a beat. I’d get home from school, and I jump in my go-kart."
"I would bomb around the yard and in the neighbor’s yards and hit their mailboxes. I was a neighborhood terror. My parents recognized that I loved it. I tried other sports and I didn’t enjoy it as much. I found something that I really liked. I really liked pushing cars to an edge and pushing myself and getting the adrenaline that goes along with that," he added.

With two NASCAR Cup Series titles, 34 Cup Series race wins, and the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Rookie of the Year award, Logano stands as one of the greatest NASCAR drivers. In 2023, he was named as one of NASCAR's Greatest 75 drivers.
