“All sunshine and rainbows” - When Amy Earnhardt ruled out any disagreements with Dale Jr.
NASCAR veteran Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his wife Amy Earnhardt were once interviewed about their personal life following Dale Jr.'s retirement from racing full-time in the sport. Speaking in 2018, Amy outlined that there was no conflict between the pair, neither during Dale Jr.'s career nor after his retirement.
Dale Jr. and Amy got engaged on July 17, 2015, and married on New Year's Eve at Childress Vineyards in Lexington, North Carolina. They welcomed their first daughter Isla in April 2018 and their second daughter Nicole in October 2020.
In an interview with Autoweek, Dale Jr. and Amy were asked several questions about their life outside NASCAR. Autoweek journalist Greg Engle asked the couple to share their thoughts on whether they ever had any tiffs or moments of conflict. Amy Earnhardt responded:
"Of course not, all sunshine and rainbows here."
Extending on his wife's comment, Dale Earnhardt Jr. opened up on how their marriage evolved with time, making their bond stronger.
"We hardly disagree these days. We did when we first started dating. But as time passed we both changed, the relationship became more of a priority in our lives. When we decided to get married, it changed us both for the better. Every milestone in our relationship has created a stronger trust. As our relationship got stronger the battles became less important. Compromise replaced stubbornness. It’s been awesome."
Earnhardt made his Xfinity Series debut in 1996. He claimed consecutive Xfinity Series championships in 1998 and 1999. Although he secured 50 wins across NASCAR’s top two series, Dale Jr. never won the coveted Cup Series title. His father Dale Earnhardt Sr. was a 7-time Cup Series champion.
The former Xfinity Series champion is now the co-owner of Xfinity Series team JR Motorsports. Moreover, Earnhardt Jr. is also the owner of the entertainment and creative production company "Dirty Mo Media," which was recently recognized as a top-performing sports podcast by Awful Announcing.
