Amy Earnhardt makes fashion statement with 'OOTD' on IG while showcasing Dale Jr.'s Budweiser iconic paint scheme merchandise
Amy Earnhardt, wife of retired NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt Jr., recently took to social media to show off some of her husband's newly released #8 Budweiser merchandise. The NASCAR Hall of Famer recently revealed he'd be driving the famed red #8 car for a limited number of late model stock car races in 2024 and 2025.
In a picture posted to her personal Instagram story, Amy is seen in a red sweatshirt with her husband's Budweiser car across the front of it. She added an #OOTD caption, acronym for outfit of the day, along with a link to Earnhardt Jr.'s #8 gear.
The Budweiser #8 car was synonymous with the early days of Earnhardt Jr.'s 18-year Cup Series career. The NASCAR Hall of Famer piloted the #8 car from 2000-2006 for Dale Earnhardt Inc., a team built by his late father, Dale Earnhardt. The 15-time Most Popular Driver won 17 of his 26 career Cup Series races in the car, most notably the 2004 Daytona 500 and the 2001 Pepsi 400, with the latter being the first race at the Daytona International Speedway since his father was tragically killed in a crash on the final lap of the Daytona 500 earlier that year.
The Budweiser #8 car hasn't been seen since the North Carolina native's final year at DEI in 2007. He moved to Hendrick Motorsports the following season. That is until now as the 50-year-old took to his personal Instagram a few weeks ago to share the news that the famous paint scheme and number combination is coming back, starting with a late model stock car race at the Florence Motor Speedway on November 23. The two-time Daytona 500 champion posted a montage video of old highlights from his days driving the #8 car. His caption read:
"This Bud’s for you… See you at Florence."
Dale Earnhardt Jr. made his yearly appearance in the Xfinity Series this season at Bristol
Even though he retired from full-time Cup Series competition after 2017, Dale Earnhardt Jr. still makes an annual appearance in the Xfinity Series. As such, he took part in a race at the Bristol Motor Speedway in September. The two-time Xfinity Series champion placed seventh in the event.
Earnhardt Jr. is still heavily involved in the sport. He owns Jr. Motorsports, which fields four full-time Xfinity Series cars and one part-time entry. One of his drivers, Justin Allgaier, made it to the Championship 4 race which will be held this Saturday at Phoenix. Allgaier has a shot to earn his first career Xfinity Series championship and the fourth for the organization.
Earnhardt Jr. joined the NASCAR on NBC booth ahead of the 2018 season as a color commentator. He spent six seasons calling the action and is set to join the Amazon/TNT Sports broadcast team in 2025.
