"Are you trying to kill me sir?" - Julia Piquet shares playful frustration with Daniel Suarez over car engine during food runs

Julia Piquet had a strange, yet playful complaint against her husband Daniel Suarez, which she pointed out on her official social media accounts. According to Piquet, her NASCAR driver husband leaves her inside the car to pick up food but doesn't leave the engine running.

Suarez and Piquet are a renowned couple in the NASCAR fraternity. However, their name goes beyond stock car racing because of their ties with the popular Piquet family.

Julia is the daughter of Nelson Piquet, a former F1 driver and a champion, and sister of Nelson Piquet Jr. and Kelly Piquet. Interestingly, Kelly Piquet is the partner of F1 star and defending world champion Max Verstappen.

Taking to her official Instagram and X accounts, Piquet shared a GIF of Peter Griffin from Family Guy. It shows Griffin trapped inside the car and asking for help, while a man walks by. Sharing it, she wrote:

"My biggest pet peave is when Daniel leaves me inside the car to pick up food and is too cheap to leave the engine running while it’s 36 degrees outside. Like are you trying to kill me sir?"

While it's certainly not a pleasant experience to sit inside a car with 100-degree Fahrenheit temperature outside, something Piquet pointed out.

For the unversed, Daniel Suarez got married to his long-time girlfriend Julia Piquet in July this year. The couple dated for nearly a decade, and in 2024, they tied the knot in the latter's hometown Brasilia, Brazil.

Daniel Suarez's playoff journey came to an end after the Trackhouse Racing driver failed to make it to the round of eight. Following his exit at the ROVAL, he shared an emotional post on social media and pledged to keep working hard.

"I’m disappointed we didn’t make the round of 8, but I think I’m more disappointed that we worked so hard leading up to the Roval and didn’t have anything to show for it, Around Lap 8-10 in the race I knew something was different with my brakes, I didn’t have the balance and stopping power that I had on Saturday, eventually in stage #2 I lost brakes completely."
"After checking the car today at the shop a brake line got loose and eventually leaked enough to lose all the brake fluid… No bueno. I want to thank our great partner @ChoiceHotels and looking forward to closing off the season strong. We’ll keep working hard I can promise you that."

Suarez qualified for the playoffs after winning the Ambetter Health 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway in February. He currently sits in 12th place in the championship with 2199 points after 35 races.
