"Did the thing": Denny Hamlin and fiancée Jordan Fish make their contribution known amid the US elections

Cup Series driver Denny Hamlin and his fiancée, Jordan Fish, took to social media to share that they voted in Tuesday's United States presidential election. The election saw former President Donald Trump defeat current Vice President Kamala Harris to win a second non-consecutive term.

In a post to her personal Instagram story, Fish posed for a photo alongside her fiancé in their car. The couple showed off their voting stickers to signify that they voted in this year's election. About voting, Fish's caption read:

The post comes a few days after Hamlin came up short yet again of advancing to the Championship 4 race, which takes place this Sunday at the Phoenix Raceway. The driver of the #11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota placed fifth in last Sunday's Round of 8 finale at the Martinsville Speedway, but it wasn't enough to secure a spot in the championship race. It's the third consecutive season the Virginia native has failed to make it out of the Round of 8.

In a post to his personal Instagram following the race, the 54-time Cup Series winner said:

"Thank you to all my friends, family, fans (and even the non fans) for the support of our 11 team this season. Still got 1 more shot to hoist the cup next weekend."

The 43-year-old was referring to Tyler Reddick as his final chance to become champion this Sunday at Phoenix. Reddick pilots the #45 Toyota for 23XI Racing, a team co-owned by Hamlin and retired NBA great Michael Jordan. Reddick earned a victory at Homestead-Miami in the Round of 8 to secure a spot in the Championship 4. The California native will seek to outrun Joey Logano, Ryan Blaney and William Byron to capture his first career title and the first for 23XI Racing.
