Harrison Burton drops two-word reaction to fiancé Jenna Petty's heartfelt message as NASCAR 2024 season ends
NASCAR driver Harrison Burton recently shared a simple response to a message from his fiancé Jenna Petty after Sunday's Cup Series championship race.
Burton ended his three-year run with Wood Brothers Racing this weekend. He finished the season with one win at Daytona and was placed 16th in the last race at Phoenix. The 24-year-old will join AM Racing in the Xfinity Series next year.
Petty, who got engaged to Burton in March, frequently posts supportive messages for her fiancé on social media. In a recent post, she wrote:
"Today, one chapter ends and another begins. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, Harrison is the best person I’ve ever known. He loves this team like his own family, and he fights for this team like his life depends on it. To be able to win here, was a dream come true. I couldn’t be more proud of the man and competitor he has become. through the best days, worst days, and everything in between, I’ll be you number one fan."
Burton responded to the above with two words:
"Love you."
Burton and Petty have been together for seven years. Petty graduated from High Point University earlier this year and works as a dancer at Dance Productions.
Harrison Burton's Cup Series term ends
Harrison Burton, son of former NASCAR driver Jeff Burton, drove the No. 21 Ford Mustang for Wood Brothers Racing for the past three years.
Wood Brothers Racing announced in July that Josh Berry would take over the No. 21 car in 2025. Burton later won his first Cup Series race at International Speedway in August after beating Kyle Busch by 0.047 seconds. He also made it to the playoffs and earned the team its 100th win at Daytona in August this year.
"Closing this chapter, we really want to thank @HBurtonRacing for everything and wish him nothing but success next season. The latter half of this season has been a ride," the team wrote.
Wood Brothers Racing finished the season 16th in the final standings.
Burton debuted in the Cup Series in 2021 for Gaunt Brothers Racing as the first driver born in the 2000s. Next year, he will join AM Racing in the No. 15 Ford Mustang.
"So, it's been good. It's been a really good learning experience, and I'm walking away from this a much better race car driver than I was beforehand. I feel like next year in Xfinity, I'll be able to show that," Burton said via Sports360AZ. [1:28 onwards]
Burton has four wins and 49 top-10s in 75 races in the Xfinity Series.
