"I think we got to loosen up the buttons" - Noah Gragson joins golf star Paige Spiranac for an Instagram glam makeover
NASCAR Cup Series driver Noah Gragson recently enjoyed a round of golf with social media influencer Paige Spiranac during the race weekend at Daytona International Speedway. Spiranac, who was a guest of NASCAR, spent part of the weekend with the #10 Stewart-Haas Racing team.
Spiranac, a former professional golfer and popular social media influencer, served as the honorary event official and the pace car rider for the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona. Other notable guests included three-time Olympic gold medalist swimmer Bobby Finke, who was the honorary starter, and Olympic track and field and cross-country athlete Parker Valby.
Attending her first NASCAR race, Spiranac faced off against Gragson in a 6-hole putting contest at Daytona International Speedway. The 31-year-old social media star later shared some posing tips with the #10 Stewart-Haas Racing driver, humorously helping him become a better "Instagram girl."
"I have to leave my mark with the drivers, so I've been teaching them how to be an Instagram golf girl. So I'm going to teach you how to pose today. First off we got to work our angles, so there's a lot of pop tips, some like kind of bent over, you really just want to make it... loosen the hips up a little bit jeez!" Spiranac said. [at 3:50]
Dressed up in Tees and shorts, Gragson suggested he must loosen up his buttons to ace the "Instagram girl" poses.
"I think we got to loosen up the buttons," Gragson suggested, to which Paige Spiranac replied, "Yeah, you got to have the buttons open, you got to get the chest hair going, and then you can always do the little 'Oh!' [leans on her golf club, which Gragson imitates]."
The jovial interaction between Gragson and Spiranac ended with the latter winning the putting contest. As part of their pre-game bet, Gragson agreed to take Spiranac on a ride-along at the track. She also declared that she would be cheering for Gragson during the race.
Noah Gragson reveals his favorite NASCAR driver to compete against
During their golf contest, Paige Spiranac shot some quick questions at Noah Gragson. She asked Gragson to name his favorite NASCAR driver to race against in the Cup Series.
The 26-year-old Las Vegas native mentioned that he enjoys racing against 2021 Cup champion Kyle Larson. He emphasized that the overall competition in the premier series is very high and that he stays focused on his performance rather than competing with others.
"I'd say they're all good. Kyle Larson's probably one of the best drivers in the Cup Series right now. But in the Cup Series, everybody's good, they're all good. You're more racing the racetrack and trying to just focus on what you can control rather than what other people are doing. Like golf, it's just you and what you can do," Gragson said. [at 2:34]
Heading into the regular season finale, Noah Gragson will have one final opportunity to advance into the playoffs if he can secure a win at Darlington Raceway. The Southern 500 is scheduled for this Sunday, September 1, at 6:00 PM ET.
