"I wear the pants" - Kyle Larson delivers hilarious response to question about wife Katelyn's instructions during family celebration
Ahead of the Round of 8 playoff race at Las Vegas, Kyle Larson addressed the instructions given by his wife, Katelyn, while on his way to celebrate a race win. The Hendrick Motorsports driver was spotted celebrating with his two children at the victory lane after his recent wins at Bristol and Charlotte.
In a recent media interaction, the 2021 Cup Series champion was asked if there was an order of who would join him during the victory lap celebration, in this case, his two children.
"I, obviously don't plan to win and bring the kid. But Bristol, I had them, you know, Owen and myself and then, you know, the ROVAL this weekend, Audrey was with me. So, you know, thankfully it worked out that way... But no, there's no, you know, order, I guess," Larson said.
Furthermore, Fox Sports' Bob Pockrass asked if there were any specific instructions from his wife to be cautious about it. To this, the #5 Chevy driver gave a humorous response, he said:
"I wear the pants, Bob. I wear the pants. I'm just kidding. We all know that's not true."
The 32-year-old Larson then spoke about his wife and assumed what might have gone through her mind regarding the safety concerns for their children while on the victory lane.
"She's all good. I think she, like, when she first watched Bristol, you know, when I had Owen on the door, she thought he was just hanging on to, like, the roof with his fingertips, so she didn't realize I'm like, got him, you know, an arm lock inside the car, and then, uh, see, yeah, she was more comfortable with it with Audrey, and I'm going super slow, too," Kyle Larson concluded.
