Joe Gibbs star Christopher Bell reveals his NASCAR race day begins with 'peanut butter banana toast'

Christopher Bell shared insights from his race-day routine, which starts with a nutritious toast meal. The 29-year-old is one of the top contenders to qualify for the 2024 Championship 4 race for a third consecutive season.

Bell is in his fourth full-time season piloting the #20 Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing. The 2017 Truck Series champion, after two successful campaigns in the Xfinity Series for JGR, transitioned to NASCAR's premier division and has continued to impress. He has secured nine victories for Joe Gibbs' outfit.

In an Instagram video, Bell revealed how he starts his morning on a race day.

"My race day always starts with peanut butter banana toast. After I have my breakfast, depending on when the race is, I might have to go right to sponsor appearances, or I might have a little bit of a break. Then we normally have sweet appearances, or Toyota stage appearances, NASCAR stage appearances."

The #20 Toyota driver then revealed his simple yet effective pre-race meal before prepping for high-octane racing.

"After that, it'll be lunchtime for my pre-race meal, which is always chicken and rice. After my chicken and rice, I will have at least an hour to prep for the race and watch film, study notes, stuff like that. Once it's time, I'll go to the drivers' meeting, and then from there, straight to driver intros, and we'll have sponsor guests that meet me at the car for pictures. And then it's finally time to strap in the race car," Christopher Bell said.

Christopher Bell has finished runner-up for two years in a row at the Round of 8 race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. While the JGR driver has a points cushion over other playoff drivers, he believes no one is ever safe heading into the second Round of 8 race at Homestead.

"Nothing is guaranteed": Christopher Bell reflects on his runner-up finish while focusing ahead to Homestead

The #20 Toyota driver Christopher Bell missed his chance to book a guaranteed berth in the Championship 4 as the Team Penske driver Joey Logano took the checkered flag.

Bell opened up on his disappointing finish despite a great performance in a post-race interview with NASCAR.

"I think everyone on this team did everything perfect today. This thing was obviously on rails, pit crew did an amazing job, Adam called a great race. Did everything we needed to put this Rheem Camry in Victory Lane, and unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be today." [0:12]

Furthermore, the 9-time Cup Series race winner is optimistic about his visit to Homestead-Miami Speedway, where he drove through victory lane last year.

"This track [Las Vegas] means nothing for next week. Fortunately, we were able to go win and win at Homestead, but nothing is guaranteed. Just because I ran second today doesn't mean I'm going to finish anywhere next week. I think the points look pretty good, which is a positive, but you're never safe in this deal. We needed to win today, and unfortunately, we didn't. We'll go onto the next one," said Christopher Bell. [0:40]

In 33 starts this season, Bell has accumulated three wins, 13 top-fives, and 21 top-10s. Moreover, in the playoffs this season, he has finished inside the top 10 except in one race. With his consistent performances, Bell has put himself in contention to claim the 2024 Cup Series title.
