“Kyle Busch is going to be SO PISSED”: NASCAR insider foresees concerning Joey Logano situation that would quash RCR rival's historic supremacy

Jeff Gluck has revealed a foresight when Kyle Busch will be 'pissed' by Joey Logano's outperforming stat. The NASCAR insider underlined that in 2031, the Team Penske driver will dethrone the Richard Childress Racing driver as the driver with the longest win streak in NASCAR history, provided Logano earns at least one victory every season.

Busch performed poorly this past season. Not only did he fail to punch a playoff ticket for the first time since 2012, but the two-time Cup Series champion also witnessed his first-ever winless season since his rookie year in 2005. For 19 consecutive years, the Nevada native didn't fail to etch his name in the winners' book, making it the longest ever and the one to beat.

Joey Logano, the reigning Cup Series champion who earned his third title at the Phoenix Raceway, is now the top driver with the longest active win streak at 13. He has won a race every season since 2012, and if he could maintain his dominance, he would tie with Kyle Busch in 2030 and outduel the RCR driver the following season.

Gluck anticipated that when Logano would dethrone Busch from the top spot, it would leave the latter unhappy.

"Kyle is going to be SO PISSED in 2031 when 41-year-old Joey breaks his record," he Tweeted.

However, with 63 wins, Busch still tops the winningest active Cup Series drivers chart and Logano is way behind him with 36 victories.

Kyle Busch's disappointing Cup Series season in a nutshell

Kyle Busch was fresh from a promising debut season with RCR where he claimed three wins. However, the same couldn't happen in the 2024 season. After a handful of races into the season, the #8 Chevy driver got a new pit crew for the third time in four races, exhibiting instability in the championship-winning driver's personnel.

Moreover, he succumbed to 5 DNFs, which occurred either due to internal problems like mechanical failure, or a wreck bad enough to end the day. Busch did inch close to winning his maiden race multiple times, including the final two regular-season races at the Daytona International Speedway and Darlington Raceway.

However, Harrison Burton took over at Daytona after a last-minute push by Busch's Chevy teammate Parker Retzlaff, and the Darlington battle was aced by Stewart Haas Racing's Chase Briscoe who fended off a hard challenge by the RCR rival for the final 17 laps. That being said, the hope of advancing into the playoffs was trashed.

Following the dismay, Kyle Busch couldn't regain his regular season form. Though he finished seventh in the playoff opener at Atlanta Motor Speedway, his performance degraded since. He failed to etch a solitary top-10 and salvaged the best result of two consecutive P13s -at Charlotte Roval and Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
