Layne Riggs etches historic NASCAR moment after becoming a multi-Truck race winner despite being out of the playoffs

Layne Riggs, the Front Row Motorsports driver #38 of the Ford F-150, has made the headlines again with his newest win at the Bristol Motor Speedway on September 19. The #38 driver may be out of the playoffs, but after winning his second consecutive playoff race, he has made a new record in the history of NASCAR.

The Front Row Motorsports driver earlier won this season's first playoff race held at the Milwaukee Mile track on August 25. But after his win at the UNOH 200 held at Bristol Motorsports, he became the first series-regular driver to win multiple races in the postseason without qualifying for the championship.

Layne Riggs didn't have quite a promising start this season with his new team, Front Row Motorsports. Even at Bristol, he qualified in the 18th position, but by the end of stage 1, he started moving up and finished in 8th place, and after stage 2, Layne Riggs was in 4th place. In the final stage, he finished first and even led 80 laps in the 200-lap race, scoring 50 points.

However, over the last four races, Riggs displayed his exceptional skills on the track. At the Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park and Richmond Raceway, the #38 driver finished in the top 5, securing the fifth spot, and won the last two playoff races.

The Front Row Motorsports team congratulated Riggs for his second consecutive win. Along with FRM, the NASCAR Craftsman Series also acknowledged the Ford driver's win and wrote:

"Conquered the Last Great Colosseum.🗡️"

Layne Riggs's heartwarming message after winning the playoff opener

The #38 Ford F-150 driver clinched his maiden win at the Milwaukee Mile track. He started the race in 16th position with a best time of 30.338 seconds and a top speed of 120.443 mph. Riggs was 0.523 seconds behind the leader, Ty Majeski, but by the end of stage 1, he was in 6th place.

In stage 2, Layne Riggs moved up to third place, just a place behind Ty Majeski. Finally, the Ford driver finished first and even led 53 laps in the 175-lap race, scoring 53 points. In a post-race interview shared by Yard Barker, Riggs shared his happiness about his first win.

"It's pretty crazy that it happened in my rookie season with what we've had to go through at the beginning of the year. To have really tough runs, a lot of of bad luck, mechanical failures, getting caught up in wrecks ... to come back and have a fifth, fifth and a win really means a lot," stated Layne Riggs.

He described his win as fulfilling one of your childhood dreams. Also, the #38 driver's father, Scott Riggs, a former NASCAR driver, made a last-minute decision to attend the race. Riggs now has two victories added to his stats, along with seven top 10 and six top 5.
