NASCAR news: Corey Heim ends 23XI speculation, signs for third full-time season with Tricon in 2025

Truck Series driver Corey Heim will be staying in the circuit for at least one more season as he has signed an extension with Tricon Garage to race full-time in 2025. It'll be the driver's third full-time season with the team.

The announcement was made via Tricon Garage on X, as the team posted a photo of its driver with a "Year 3" graphic alongside him. The caption wrote:

"Here to stay 😤 @CoreyHeim_ returns to TRICON for a third full-time season in 2025!"

FOX Sports NASCAR reporter Bob Pockrass also confirmed the news on his personal X account, writing:

"Tricon makes it official that Corey Heim will race again for the team full time in 2025."

The news ends previous speculation that Heim would be moving up to the Cup Series level and driving a third entry for 23XI Racing, a team co-owned by Cup Series star Denny Hamlin and retired NBA legend Michael Jordan. Heim would then have been teammates with Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick.

However, in an article by Pockrass last July, the racing insider wrote that Xfinity Series driver Riley Herbst would be the more likely candidate to wheel a third 23XI Racing car next year. Pockrass took to his X to elaborate further, writing:

"As I've written in this piece, Riley Herbst top candidate to 23XI next year with Monster relationship/funding ... at this time, would expect Corey Heim to continue to race trucks w/select Xfinity and Cup races next year."

Heim has found much success in his first two seasons at Tricon. Last season, he won three races, posted 12 top-fives and 19 top-10 finishes. He made his first career Championship 4 appearance and finished third to runner-up Grant Enfinger and champion Ben Rhodes.

Heim has made it back to the Championship 4 race this year, which takes place Friday night at the Phoenix Raceway. The driver of the #11 truck has registered six wins, 13 top-fives, and 17 top-10s.

The Championship 4 was set last Friday at Martinsville ft. Corey Heim

Corey Heim seeks his first career Truck Series championship this weekend in Phoenix after the final race to make the Championship 4 took place last Friday night at the Martinsville Speedway. Heim will compete against Grant Enfinger, Christian Eckes, and Ty Majeski for the title.

Enfinger scored victories in the first two races of the Round of 8 at Talladega and Homestead-Miami, respectively, with the first win guaranteeing the driver a spot in the Championship 4 race. Eckes, meanwhile, earned a victory last Friday at Martinsville to clinch himself a spot. Heim and Majeski took the final two positions by virtue of points.

Like Heim, the other three drivers also seek their first career Truck Series championship this Friday at Phoenix.
