"People Google this stuff?" - When $24M-worth Joey Logano set the record straight on fan favorites
Joey Logano once opened up about his off-weekend schedule, where he revealed everything about his day away from NASCAR duty. Though he did not dive directly into the intricate details, the Team Penske driver touched upon his schedule on off days, as he addressed common questions asked about him online.
During the time of the video, Logano was competing full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series season. There is huge pressure on drivers to perform at their very best, week in and week out, and it was not different for Logano. He shared, however, that he made sure to also indulge himself in taking a day off or two, in the interview.
As seen in the 2019 video shared by NASCARPod on Instagram, Logano, worth $24M (as per Celebrity Net Worth), was answering the most popular questions about him, as asked by fans online. One of the questions was, "What does Joey Logano do on the off weekends?"
Replying to the question, Logano exclaimed,
"People Google this stuff? What I do on my off weekends?"
Logano then went on to describe his off-day:
"Well I have a few bosses in my life. You know I hope, Roger Penske is the boss and he would tell me what to do a lot of times. On an off weekend, I've a wife and she'll tell me what to do. So you know that's kind of what I do," he said.
Coming to the current season, NASCAR went through a two-week break due to the Summer Olympics held in Paris, France. And one could expect Logano to switch from this extended "off weekend" to focus on a NASCAR championship vctory.
Joey Logano targets NASCAR championship win
Joey Logano spoke about his target coming into the 2024 season, following his victory in Nashville, and it was nothing but the championship win. The Team Penske driver has already qualified for playoffs but wants to get his hands on the most precious prize.
Replying to a question about any possible effect of the race victory on his season, Logano said:
"I don't know that it changed the complexion of the season a whole bunch," Logano said. "We are in, which is great. The goal is not just to make the playoffs. The goal is to win the championship all the time. So that's one step of the stepping stones there."
"We've just got to stay around long enough to take advantage of speed like the #12 (of Ryan Blaney) did last year," he further added.
The Nashville win not only brought his playoff ticket but also provided him with a victory after 49 races, ending his long winless streak. Logano currently stands in 15th place in the NASCAR regular season with 525 points. He has taken one win, four top 5s, seven top 10s, and three DNFs this season.
