"That looked awful": Brad Keselowski disapproves of NFL's Monday Night Football scenes amid Chris Godwin injury

Brad Keselowski took to social media on Monday to share his thoughts on a gruesome injury that Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin suffered in a Monday Night Football game against the Baltimore Ravens. The 2012 Cup Series champion said it looked like a terrible injury and didn't understand why it happened in the first place.

In a post that he shared on his personal X account, the Michigan native reacted to Godwin's injury. The football star suffered a dislocated ankle after taking a hit from Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith. Keselowski wrote:

"Yikes. That looked awful. Watching MNF. I don’t get why a coach would do that to his team when down by so much."

The Buccaneers were trailing the Ravens by a score of 41-31 with less than a minute remaining in the game when the injury occurred. Keselowski expressed his confusion regarding the decision by Tampa Bay's coaching staff to put their players at risk in a situation where the team was down by two scores and had limited time to mount a comeback.

This sparked a comment from one user taking a jab at RFK Racing, a team Keselowski co-owns and drives for in the Cup Series. They wrote:

"He's there to win games . . . something that RFK doesn't achieve . . ."

The 35-time Cup Series race winner replied to the user explaining the game was already out of Tampa Bay's reach and they got one of their key players injured for essentially no reason. He wrote:

"Can’t win this game. Can’t win the next game without one of your best players."

Brad Keselowski snapped 110-race winless streak earlier this season

On the racetrack, Brad Keselowski earned his first victory as an owner-driver of RFK Racing and his first win in over three years. The champion driver took the checkered flag at Darlington Raceway last May.

Keselowski passed Tyler Reddick and teammate Chris Buescher in the closing laps to win, snapping a 110-race winless streak dating back to Talladega in the spring of 2021. In his post-race interview with FOX Sports, Keselowski said:

"It's one heck of a day. It's Darlington, so whether it's your first win, your last win, this is a really special track. The history of NASCAR, it's as tough as it gets. That battle at the end with my teammate, Tyler Reddick, we just laid it all out on the line. It was freaking awesome. I thought it couldn't get much better than Kansas, it did today."

The win helped Keselowski make the playoffs for the second straight year after missing it in 2022. However, the 15-year veteran driver was eliminated from the playoffs in the Round of 12. This season, Keselowski has registered a win, nine top-fives, 13 top-tens, and sits 14th in the point standings.
