“They didn’t ask me” - $80M Kyle Busch makes feelings known after being left out of NASCAR's Netflix documentary for the second time
According to a recent report, Kyle Busch was once again snubbed by Netflix for the second season of its NASCAR-themed docu-series, Full Speed. This marks the second time the series has overlooked the NASCAR veteran. The docu-series is similar to Netflix's blockbuster Drive to Survive, which is based on Formula 1.
NASCAR: Full Speed is a collaborative effort between NASCAR and Netflix to showcase the behind-the-scenes action of NASCAR's elite stock car racing. The first season premiered on January 30, 2024, and sources have confirmed that a second season is in the works.
The second season was announced in September this year and is expected to be released in 2025. The cast comprised Ryan Blaney, William Byron, Ross Chastain, Denny Hamlin, Kyle Larson, Bubba Wallace, Christopher Bell, Joey Logano, and Tyler Reddick.
“No, they didn’t ask me,” Busch told Front Office Sports about Full Speed's second season. “Maybe it comes down to that you must be in the playoffs to be on video. I don’t know, but I think my story of the 20-year thing would be a pretty good one. But they’re not following along, so you won’t see much of me.”
The $80 million worth Kyle Busch (according to Celebrity Net Worth) did not have a huge part to play in Full Speed's Season 1 even though he won three races in 2023, and qualified for the playoffs. The five episodes of the first season focused on the 10 playoff races and playoff-qualified drivers.
Notably, one could argue that the reason behind Netflix's decision to drop Busch could have come from the RCR driver's lack of performance in 2024. The Richard Childress Racing driver struggled throughout the season, failing to secure a victory or qualify for the playoffs.
Samantha Busch shared a supportive statement for Kyle Busch
Samantha Busch, the wife of Kyle Busch shared an inspirational message for her husband following the conclusion of the Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead-Miami. Mrs. Busch took to her official Instagram account to post a picture with Busch and sent a message to the struggling Richard Childress Racing driver.
Busch, yet again, failed to make amends in the Homestead race as he qualified in 17th place on Saturday. He crossed the finish line in 31st place on Sunday.
Here's what Samantha Busch wrote on Instagram:
"Been a hard year at the track, but I'll always be by your side."
Tyler Reddick pulled off a stunning move right at the end of the race to snatch the victory from Ryan Blaney on Sunday. With this, he secured his place in Championship 4 alongside Joey Logano. Blaney finished in the runner-up position, followed by Denny Hamlin.
