“Time goes way too fast”: Kyle Busch’s wife Samantha gets emotional as she cherishes son’s ‘last Wing Karts race’
Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch's son Brexton raced his "last full-time Wing Karts race" at Millbridge on October 29, 2024. Busch's wife, Samantha, shared a glimpse of their son's time in the series on her Instagram story.
Brexton has participated in 129 races for the 2024 season and secured 45 wins. He bagged 121 top-10 finishes and 103 top-five finishes throughout the season. In the last race, the 9-year-old clinched P2 in the JR WING Feature 1 race, and Jackosn Darnell won.
Busch's son secured P3 in the JR WING Heat 1 race, while Brantlee Lamb won. Brexton won the BOX STOCK Feature 1 and Heat 1 races on October 29, 2024. Samantha shared her son's victory post and wrote:
"Look how little. Time goes way too fast."
Brexton recalled his memories of racing in the series and wrote in his Instagram post:
"Tonight is my last race running Wing Karts full-time at Millbridge. I’ve captured countless victories and memories racing Wing Karts not just at Millbridge, but across the country. @prcnation89 has played an important part of my early growth as a race car driver. Hopefully I can capture a two wins, and a championship in my final night behind the wheel of a PRC Wing Kart!"
Brexton said he aims to be a third-generation driver in his family. His grandfather, Tom Busch, was a Ford mechanic and the driving force behind Kurt and Kyle Busch.
Kyle Busch has a roadmap prepared for Brexton Busch leading to NASCAR
Richard Childress Racing driver Kyle Busch's son Brexton competes in various junior series, including Box Stock, Restricted Micro, and Junior Sprint racing events. The Cup Series champion has prepared a blueprint for his son to enter the realm of NASCAR.
The Cup Series driver believes his son should stick to the dirt and asphalt realm. He shared that Brexton would race in the Legend Cars at 10 and then transition into PLM events by 12. He added that by age 16, his son would be ready to appear in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. In an interview with The Athletic's NASCAR reporter Jeff Gluck, Busch said:
"I want to keep him on the dirt and asphalt realm, I don’t feel like you should go one way or the other. I like what we’re doing right now, he gets in his Bandolero car and he knows what he’s got to do on pavement, he gets into his dirt car and he knows what he’s got to do on dirt. So I really like that. We’ll probably stick with some of that mixture. And then by 16, he’ll be ready for some Trucks.”
Brexton will end his 2024 season at the Tulsa Expo Raceway on December 30.
