When is the NASCAR Awards Banquet 2024? Exploring the date of the event location and more
With the conclusion of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season, the Awards Banquet is just around the corner. The event will recognize the stand-out talents in the world of stock car racing, including Joey Logano for winning this year’s NASCAR Cup Series championship title.
The Awards Banquet is an annual awards ceremony and banquet that primarily honors the champions from the three national series (Cup, Xfinity, and Trucks). It began in 1981 and has become a tradition, recognizing iconic drivers through the years such as Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jeff Gordon.
For the first time since its inception, the event will be hosted in Charlotte, known as the Stock Car Racing Capital of the World. Read on to find out more about the upcoming event.
NASCAR Awards Banquet 2024 date and location
The Awards Banquet will be held in the Queen City at the Charlotte Convention Center this year. It will be the event’s new home after being held in several locations.
The first location was in New York City until the stock car racing league decided to move to Legas Vegas in 2009. Ten years later, the event was held in Nashville until 2023 when Ryan Blaney was hailed champion.
The upcoming banquet will also celebrate the NASCAR Regional Series and NASCAR International Series for the second consecutive year. NASCAR EVP, chief partnership and licensing officer Michelle Byron was pleased to announce the news last August, saying:
“We are pleased to announce our move to the Queen City for our postseason celebrations.”
“Being able to trace many of our sport’s racing roots back to the North Carolina area, you can feel the energy and passion for NASCAR from the fans in Charlotte. We’re excited to officially crown our champions in the Queen City.”
The 2024 NASCAR Awards Banquet is scheduled for November 21.
Who are the 2024 NASCAR champions
Joey Logano will be honored for winning the championship in the Cup Series. It is Logano’s third championship, making him the 10th driver to win at least three titles. He is the sixth three-time Cup Series title holder after Lee Petty, David Pearson, Cale Yarborough, Darrell Waltrip, and Tony Stewart.
The No. 22 Team Penske driver bagged the championship at Phoenix Raceway where he crossed the checkered flag ahead of defending champ and teammate Ryan Blaney.
In the Xfinity Series, Justin Allgaier won his first championship after 14 full-time seasons in the second-tier series. This milestone also gave Dale Earnhardt Jr. his third championship as an owner of JR Motorsports. Moreover, Dale Jr. won two titles as a driver in 1998 and 1999.
As for the Craftsman Truck Series, another first-time champion will be honored. Ty Majeski brought his No. 98 ThorSport Racing Ford F-150 to a championship after dominating the race around the one-mile track in Arizona. He finished the season with three wins, 10 top-5s, and 14 top-10s.
