"You're affecting everybody's paycheck": When Joey Logano shared his wisdom on Chase Elliott-Kevin Harvick's feud

Joey Logano commented on the feud between Kevin Harvick and Chase Elliott in 2021, in which he saw glimpses of his feud from 2015. Logano was famously involved in a conflict with Matt Kenseth in 2015 when he wrecked the latter and received an eye for an eye payback at Martinsville.

In the case of Harvick and Elliott, the feud began when the HMS driver held up the SHR driver at Bristol towards the end of the race. Later, Harvick tried wrecking Elliott at the ROVAL but was unsuccessful in his attempts and ended up hurting his own chances.

In an interview with Fox Garage in 2021, Joey Logano emphasized the urgency of resolving the differences between the two NASCAR superstars.

"I don't know where it's going to go, but I know one thing, you want it to resolve as soon as possible if you're in the middle of this because it's not about driver versus driver when there's thousands of people on each side that it effects," Logano said.

Logano further pointed out how employees in the two drivers' teams have their bonuses dependent on several factors like their driver's performances.

"When you start crashing each other, well now you're affecting everybody's paycheck," he added.

Brushing up on his feud with Matt Kenseth, the Penske driver said that he would've picked up the phone and tried to sort out the differences earlier. Furthermore, Logano also expressed relief that he was not involved in the feud between Kevin Harvick and Chase Elliot.

It's worth mentioning that Logano had a few high-profile feuds in his career, most notably with Matt Kenseth in 2015 and Kyle Busch in 2017.

NASCAR warned Chase Elliot and Kevin Harvick of 'severe consequences' following their Charlotte feud

Following Chase Elliott and Kevin Harvick's incidents which began in Bristol and extended to Charlotte, NASCAR warned the two drivers of 'severe consequences' if the situation were to escalate.

Scott Miller, NASCAR's senior vice president of competition at that time, mentioned that they would keep a close eye on Elliot and Harvick and step in if required (as quoted by CBS Sports):

"We will just continue to monitor the situation and really try not to let to get it out of control. We don't want to park anybody. We want all the fans to see the drivers that they came out to see. That'll try to be a last resort. But if we keep seeing things, then we will absolutely have to take some sort of action there," Miller added.

It's worth mentioning that while the feud between the two drivers didn't progress beyond Charlotte, Chase Elliott's handling of the situation was praised by Larry McReynolds.

The analyst claimed the #9 driver reminded him of his father Bill Elliot and how he would manage to negotiate such situations and walk away.
