Zane Smith's wife McCall shares messages from him regarding fandom for UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones
McCall Smith, wife of NASCAR Cup Series driver Zane Smith, took to social media on Sunday to share messages sent between herself and her husband about UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones. The messages humorously showed how her husband is a huge Jones fan.
McCall posted the message exchange between herself and her husband to her Instagram story. The two messages shown were from Zane via Instagram direct messages.
One of the messages was a link to a video titled "Top 5 Dana White glazing Jon Jones moments." The title is a reference to White, the UFC president, praising Jones for being the greatest UFC fighter of all time.
The other message was a link to a video titled "Jon Jones UFC 309 promo narrated by Dana White," which included a montage of highlights in the leadup to Jones' fight with Stipe Miocic at the UFC 309 event on Saturday night. McCall's caption read:
"Can you guys tell my husband is a huge Jon Jones fan 😂"
In a screen-record video posted to her Instagram story, McCall walked her followers through the videos Zane sent her. In the first video, White made a claim about the heavyweight champion.
"Jon Jones is the best ever," White said. "Ever. When I say ever, I mean in any combat sport. He's the best ever."
In the following snippet, White is again hyping up Jones and states that he's the best to ever compete in fighting, saying:
"I'm gonna say it right here right now. The greatest fighter to ever live, ever, is f****** Jon Jones."
The final video McCall showed was of retired NBA star Shaquille O'Neal asking White if Jones would ever fight heavyweight contender Tom Aspinall. White said that UFC commentator and famous podcaster Joe Rogan has pushed for the fight to happen and once more stated that Jones is the greatest fighter in history.
"I consider Jon Jones the greatest combat fighter of all-time," White said.
Jones continued to add to his impressive UFC resume by defeating Miocic via third-round TKO on Saturday at Madison Square Garden to retain the UFC Heavyweight title.
McCall Smith posted about Zane Smith's tough race at Phoenix
McCall Smith posted photos of herself and her husband from the season finale race at the Phoenix Raceway to her Instagram. McCall also shared her thoughts about race in the captions and shared how it wasn't the result they hoped for as Zane crashed out of the race and finished 39th.
"Might not have been the ending we wanted for Zane on Sunday but nonetheless, a great trip out to AZ seeing family and kicking off the offseason with friends 🤍🥂 good times!"
McCall's husband placed 30th in the final standings and registered two top-five finishes this season. Zane and McCall got married in January of this year.
