Top 5 active NASCAR drivers feat. William Byron who have the most consecutive years with a win streak
NASCAR is a fast-paced sport, and drivers show their dominance on the track by winning races season after season, etching their names in history. Richard Childress Racing's Kyle Busch holds the record for the longest streak of consecutive seasons with at least one win, an impressive 19-year run.
However, in the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season Busch struggled to land a single win, ending his streak. Here, we take a look at the active drivers who currently hold the longest streak:
#5. Christopher Bell
Christopher Bell debuted in the Cup Series under Joe Gibbs Racing in 2021 and secured his first win at the O'Reilly Auto Parts 253 race at Daytona International Speedway the same year. Since his debut in JGR, Bell hasn't looked back and has secured at least one win each season.
In 2021, Christopher Bell secured a single win. Since then he has shown immense improvement. In the 2022 season, he bagged three wins with a third-place finish in the points table. Continuing this upward trajectory in 2023, the JGR driver achieved a career-high four wins. In 2024, he added another three wins to his impressive record.
#4. Kyle Larson
Kyle Larson's four-season streak began when he joined Hendrick Motorsports in 2021. Since then, Larson has reached new heights, winning the 2021 Cup Series championship and a career-high ten races in his debut season with HMS. He followed this up with three wins in 2022, four in 2023, and six in the 2024 season.
Larson's first win under the HMS banner came at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and his most recent victory came at the Charlotte Roval held on October 13, 2024.
#3. William Byron
Hendrick Motorsports driver William Byron is the youngest driver in NASCAR to excel in the Next Gen car era. He scored his first career win in the 2020 Bluegreen Vacations Duel 2 at Daytona International Speedway and followed it up with another win in the 2021 Cup Series season. Byron continued his momentum in 2022, securing two wins and extending his streak of consecutive seasons with at least one victory.
During the 2023 season, William Byron bagged a career-high six wins, finishing the season in third place in the points table. In 2024 he clinched three wins and ended in third place. His last win was at the Martinsville Speedway on April 7, 2024.
#2. NASCAR veteran Denny Hamlin
Denny Hamlin is the second Joe Gibbs Racing driver on the list. He has been on the JGR team since his debut in the 2005 NASCAR Cup Series season. Hamlin has been on a streak for six seasons and has won at least two races each season. In the 2024 season, Hamlin secured three wins and ended the season in eighth place.
The #11 Toyota driver's streak could have beaten Kyle Busch's 19-year streak if he had won a race in 2018. He was on a streak since 2006 before it ended it in 2018. However, he he got back to winning ways in 2019, bagging six wins during the course of the season.
#1. Joey Logano's 13-year streak
Team Penske's Joey Logano holds the longest active streak of consecutive seasons with at least one win in NASCAR, following Kyle Busch's streak ending in 2024. Logano's streak began in 2012 while driving for Joe Gibbs Racing. In 2013, he moved to Team Penske, where he has continued to maintain his winning ways, ensuring he has not had a winless season in a decade with the team.
The Team Penske driver has recorded 36 wins in his 17-year career. Additionally, he has secured 285 top-ten finishes and three Cup Series championship titles. He recorded his career-high six wins in the 2015 season, but Kyle Busch won the championship title.
Logano is the only active driver with a realistic chance to challenge Kyle Busch's 19-year streak record and potentially achieve a 20-year streak of his own.
