3 biggest revenge games facing Russell Wilson-less Denver Broncos in 2024
Starting with Russell Wilson, the Denver Broncos have seen a lot of turnover in recent years across the roster. As such, there are many faces in new places looking to prove that the team made a mistake in choosing to move on. Here are three of the biggest revenge games on the Broncos schedule in 2024.
#1 - Pittsburgh Steelers vs Denver Broncos (Russell Wilson)
Wilson faces the Denver Broncos not long after the team released him this offseason. The Broncos travel to play the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1 and then, after that history-soaked affair, the team faces the Steelers in Week 2.
Wilson, seemingly set to be the starter for the game, will get an opportunity to prove Payton and the Broncos wrong for moving on. At least, it will be up to him to prove that he was at least worth keeping on as a bridge quarterback for Bo Nix. Either way, the game will feature plenty of storylines to explore as it acts as what could be the epilogue to the Russell Wilson story in Denver.
#2 - Denver Broncos vs Seattle Seahawks (Dre'Mont Jones and Noah Fant)
The Broncos played the Seahawks in Seattle in the first game of the Russell Wilson era in Denver. According to Broncos Wire, the Broncos are set to travel to Seattle once again to kick off the post-Wilson era. Geno Smith will be waiting as will be Dre'Mont Jones and Noah Fant.
Fant and Jones were sent to Seattle as part of the Russell Wilson trade. With the quarterback not working out for the Denver Broncos, Fant and Jones will get an opportunity to remind Denver that they made a mistake offering the pieces up in the first place.
#3 - Cleveland Browns vs Denver Broncos (Jerry Jeudy and Shelby Harris)
Jerry Jeudy was traded away this offseason to the Cleveland Browns for a fifth and sixth-round pick, per Browns media. It was clear during his run with the Broncos that the majority of fans were out on the wide receiver. With an offensive makeover taking place this offseason, the team elected to let the Browns handle Jeudy's future.
The upcoming Week 13 showdown will allow Jeudy a chance to prove to Denver that they should have handed him the lucrative second contract instead.
Meanwhile, Shelby Harris was a casualty of the Russell Wilson trade, getting sent to the Seattle Seahawks in the blockbuster deal. Since then, he has meandered his way over to the Browns and now the Browns have a piece on offense and defense set to pursue revenge against the Broncos.
