3 facts that prove Tom Brady's age has failed to slow him down in the NFL

Tom Brady has put together the greatest career for any NFL player of all time. He holds just about every statistical record possible for a starting quarterback, including wins, yards, and touchdowns.

He has appeared in the Super Bowl 10 times and won the right in seven of them, both of which are the most by any player in NFL history.

At this point in his career, Tom Brady is basically rewriting the record books and creating a new standard of greatness.

While his countless accolades are surely impressive, his most iconic victory of all may just be his winning battle against time itself. He appears to be ageless as his overall performance has refused to decline as he gets older. These three accomplishments prove it.

#1 - Oldest player ever to win the NFL MVP award

Tom Brady is the oldest player ever to win the NFL MVP award. He won the award at the conclusion of the 2017 NFL season when he was 40 years old, making him the only player ever in his 40s to be named the NFL MVP.

Brady led the entire league that season with 4,577 passing yards, while adding 32 touchdowns and helping the New England Patriots achieve a 13-3 record. This was the third NFL MVP award won during his career and also the most recent one.

Tom Brady is the only starting quarterback in NFL history to win a Super Bowl ring after turning 40 years old. While this would be impressive enough, it goes even further. He has made three Super Bowl appearances since turning 40, winning two of them.

Brady appeared in the Super Bowl with the Patriots at 40 or older in back-to-back seasons, in 2017 and 2018. They lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in the first, but defeated the Los Angeles Rams the following year.

The third appearance and second victory occurred following the 2020 NFL season when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs.

#3 - Tom Brady led the NFL in passing at 44 years old

While most players' performances decline on the field significantly as they get older, this hasn't been the case with Brady. At 44 years old, during the 2021 NFL season, he led the entire league with an incredible 5,316 passing yards and 43 touchdowns.

This was the fourth time in his career that Brady led the league in passing yards, as well as his fifth time throwing the most touchdowns. He put together a strong case for his fourth NFL MVP award, but it went to Aaron Rodgers instead.
