3 NFL teams that should trade for Jarvis Landry
Jarvis Landry recently publicly expressed his frustrations with the Cleveland Browns organization. Shortly after, multiple reports have stated that the Browns are allowing Landry to seek a trade to a new team.
Landry is entering the final year of his contract for the 2022 NFL season, so he is already a potential trade candidate. The Browns also recently acquired Amari Cooper in a trade with the Dallas Cowboys, increasing the chances of Jarvis Landry being traded during the offseason.
The 29-year-old veteran wide receiver has been consistently solid in his NFL career.
Across eight seasons, he has only missed five total games, while recording 7,598 receiving yards and 37 touchdowns. He should be a popular target in the trade market and here are three teams that make the most sense for him.
Potential destinations for Jarvis Landry
#1 - Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts currently have just under $70 million dollars in available salary cap space, the most in the entire NFL by more than $20 million dollars.
They recently traded away Carson Wentz, which opened up a significant amount of extra money for them. This gives them a ton of flexibility to improve their roster for the 2022 season.
Wide receivers are one of the biggest positions of need for the Colts. Michael Pittman had a big year, exceeding 1,000 receiving yards last season, but the Colts don't have much else besides that.
No other player on their roster exceeded 400 receiving yards last season. Trading for Jarvis Landry would solve one of the biggest issues with their roster.
#2 - Las Vegas Raiders
Since losing Henry Ruggs III to a legal situation last year, the Las Vegas Raiders are in need of some help at the wide receiver position.
They have nearly $30 million dollars in available cap space, so they can afford to sign an upgrade. They are also potentially losing both Zay Jones and DeSean Jackson to free agency, furthering their need to acquire a wide receiver.
#3 - Philadelphia Eagles
While the Philadelphia Eagles led the entire NFL in rushing yards per game last season, they could use some help at the wide receiver position.
No player on their roster exceeded 1,000 receiving yards last season and just one wide receiver eclipsed 650 receiving yards. Trading for Landry would be a useful addition to their offensive unit.
